Wyndham Bonnet Creek Questions

We'll be staying at Bonnet Creek for several days in early December, and I have a few questions:

Is there Wi Fi there? I can't seem to confirm that on their site. If so, is there and extra charge, and how much?

Can we request a quieter section of the resort, perhaps facing just some "nature"? If so, what section should we ask for? We'd also like to request a lower floor room. How best to go about these requests? In writing, or by phone?

I wasn't asked smoking or non smoking when reserving. Are they all non-smoking at this resort, or might we get stuck with a smokey smelling room?

Thanks so much, everyone.

They do have Wi Fi and it is free!!!!. You can request a certain preference. Are you renting from an owner? I would have them do it for you.

Not sure about the smoking issue.

I have called the resort several times and they have always been very helpful with my questions.

We are going in January. Would love to hear about your experience when you get back!!

At BC, you have two options for "view". There is lake view, facing the lake and pool areas. And there is parking view, which faces the parking lots and parking garage. Also, there is ongoing construction at the far end of the resort. Buildings #3 and #5 are the closest. Construction starts promptly at sunrise. Althought we were in bldg. #3 very close to the construction, it really didn't bother us. One night, we received a message warning us that they were going to pour concrete overnight, starting at midnight. Fortunately it rained that night and the next two nights, so they never poured the concrete.

The entire resort is non-smoking. It is written on the confirmation that I received from BC. I didn't see anybody smoking, the entire time I was there.

It's a very nice resort. I hope you enjoy your stay at Bonnet Creek!

Thank you both for the replies. I'll call and request a quiet location (if there is one), and I'm really relieved to know it's a non-smoking resort.

CinderellaMom, I'll definitely post when I return.

I have 11 nights there early December and I too am looking for low, quiet floor. I really don't care about the view as I am sure I will be too exhausted after the parks to look at anything!! I am renting from an owner and he is going to request this for me about a week before. I too am going to call. As this is the first part of our trip, we will probably be on London time for most of it so will probably be waking up early, hopefully if there is any noise it will be after we are up!

I am a wyndham owner and have stayed at BC a few times. I stayed in building 3 last year and even though there was construction we never heard it. The rooms are pretty soundproof. Not like the POP where I am staying on my next trip. LOL :rotfl2: Oh well

I found it is best to have a car while staying here. Thier shuttle service is limited and can fill up. Plus it is hard to go shoppping for groceries etc...

The resort is beautiful and they have lots to do on property. Even a little mini golf course (free).

They will ask you to go to a presentiation and they will give youe 75 disney dollars (atleast that is what it was last year). I always go to the earilest usally 8am one and make sure to tell the person that I am only there for the $$$ and when they give me the hard sell I will say loudly thta I could buy this on ebay for like $2000, it cost like $20,000 from Wyndam. They don't want other potential buyers to hear this !!! Show NO interest and you can usally get out of there within 45 minutes. If they think there is ANY potential for a sell they will keep you there FOREVER!!!! Sells technique. The longer someone is in the chair the more likely it is they will buy. :scared: :scared1: :scared:

Hope you enjoy your stay

We just got back late last night from a week at BC. We really enjoyed it. We never heard any sounds from construction and very little sound from other rooms. We occasionally heard people yelling for kids out in the parking lot/parking garage. We were in Torre del Cielo Room # 1078. It was phenomenal. 10th floor, all the way down at the end of the hall--so only one other room down there (cut down on noise from the hallway)--and facing Epcot. We had a fabulous view of Illuminations every night at 9, as well as being able to see Wishes (or Hallowishes)--some nights simultaneously. I didn't even know that kind of view was available. The castle was a tiny speck in the distance during the day, but the fireworks were easily visible. It seems like I remember reading somewere that BC is a voluntary no-smoking resort--but I can't swear to that. I called their direct line a couple of days before we checked in to ask a few questions and requested a fireworks view room--the young lady I spoke with sent my request on to the right place and said that they tend to preassign rooms about two days out.

Anyway, enjoy!

This is my recollection as well...unless something has changed since we last stayed there, all Wyndham's properties are (were) voluntary non-smoking...which I take to mean they'd prefer you smoke outside on the balcony, but you aren't required to.

This is a quote from the reservation confirmation letter for my August 2008 stay at BC:

"As a courtesy to our non-smoking guests, smoking is not permitted at the resort. Thank you for your consideration."

we just got back

internet is free but it is "wired" in the rooms ( they also have 4 computers and two printers in the area to the right of the "recreation desk" )

construction is ongoing and if you get placed in a "lake view" building 4 or 5 you will both see and hear it ( we were told that no construction could be seen from our room but of course it was a ruse ... wyndham owners have more pull than exchangers or renters as to room assignments )

just a word of caution, be wary of parking in the parking garage which is the only thing left to you in building 4 or 5 if you get back later in the day

we parked there three nights but on the third night someone saw fit to put key scratches on the both driver side doors of our brand new national rental car ( we ended up parking near the check in building for the rest of the stay since it has a lot of openings at night ... it was filled during the day friday saturday and sunday with check ins )

we came to find out that an employee also had their car key scratched within the last week ( they were also parked on the second level

We stayed in pres suite in Towe 5. No wi-fi, but network cable you can plus in with free access.

And yes, no smoking issues to worry about.

we were right next to the new tower being built. We had no problems and no noise at all.

If you have a request for something, call them ahead of time
