Wyndham Bonnet Creek questions

We've pretty much settled on renting a 2 bedroom condo at the Wyndham Bonnet Creek resort for next summer's vacation.

I had a couple of questions I was hoping someone could answer:

1. Do we have to rent Saturday - Saturday, or can we extend by a night or two at either end of the trip? Didn't know if they were on a strictly weekly system, or points per night.

2. A quick perusal of some owner rental sites via Google, it looks like $1200 for a week for a 2 bedroom is the most common asking price, but what should we really expect to pay? Many people have just "Negotiable" or "Make Me an Offer" so I'm wondering what other people paid? Our dates are in mid June, if that makes a difference in pricing.

Thanks!

The inventory is managed on a weekly basis, but can be booked on a nightly basis, with some restrictions.

Mid-June is Prime season. During Prime, all reservations must be for 3, 4, or 7 nights, either starting or ending on a check-in day. But, you could, say, book a 4-night reservation starting Friday, and then another one ending on a Saturday. (This might require a move mid-stay, but I think they work hard to avoid such things.) This restriction is lifted within 90 days of check-in.

Prime season costs more points, and so will be more expensive. I would think a week would probably be pretty close that asking price of $1200. It would be more for a holiday week, like 7/4.

Like DVC, Friday/Saturday nights are ~2x the others, so that will play a role too. Owners with large holdings can book rooms at a discount within 60 days of check-in. I can't tell you if there will be such inventory in mid-June, as that's quite a popular time.

I booked on:

For 9 nights ... one week, plus 2 add-on nights, it was $1000 total. They couldn't guarantee the extra 2 nights would be in the same room, but they were. :thumbsup2

Wow, what size unit was that, and for what dates? Just wondering if I can expect that low of price, that's awesome! Jeez, when you compare that to what Disney charges for their DVC villas, ouch, that's a HUGE price difference.

Generally speaking if you book within 60 days, you will get a great price. The farther out you book the more expensive. Wyndham has huge discounts for VIP owners within the 60 day booking window.

...but, peak times don't usually have many (if any) units available in the 60-day window.

Is late July/early August a peak time for Bonnet Creek? Those dates are Disney's Value season, now, believe it or not.

Hard to say. It is Peak season in terms of points, but it may not fully book by the 60-day window.

I'm an owner at Wyndham Bonnet Creek and have a confirmed reservation for the week of May 9th, 2009 in a 2 bedroom deluxe for rent for $800. I thought this was a little high, $750 is the going rate. Toon
