Ok, so back in December we booked for Aug 19th-26th CBR w/ FD. We are thinking we may be arriving later (maybe 5-6ish) on the 18th, should I add another day onto CBR? Should I make reservations for a value, or just show up on the 18th @ a value and see what they could do. We did the latter of these last year and thankfully we got a room @ ASMu, but IDK if it's b/c we got lucky or what. And @ what time would they "release" the room? If we showed up @ later in the evening is that ok? I have never booked "room only" before.
Edited to add that we called WDW reservations last year a few hours before arriving and they said they had nothing but we just tried the All Stars anyways, IDK what all that means but maybe it was that we were just lucky?

If available and affordable, I'd add day at cbr. Could be room only and they can link with other ressie so you won't have to switch rooms. Otherwise I would book a room at value, so you know you have room, somewhere.

Room only is very simple. There may be discount available for the one night.

are you driving or flying?

we have arrived late in the day. pick up a rom saver coupon book at the florida welcome center/or 1st rest stop in FLA.

you can stay that night at the knights Inn on 192 pretty cheap.. OR the Motel 6 east for 25 a night!! it's just for one night. you can walk to mcdonalds, china buffet, a few other fast food palces. clean, small pool. walk across the street to Old Town.. eat there. ahve a few drinks. ride some rides. go karts, in the morning, check out right away and check in to CBR.. you saved a ton of money and check in first thing in the morning!!

If you are using Disney transportation, I would do another night at CBR. Trying to move your luggage around with Disney is time consuming and a pain (at least in our exprerience the 4 times we have done it).

If you have a car, I would just pick a nice hotel nearby. I found that the checkin, distance from car to room, etc takes too long at Disney to just do a Value for one night. We usually come in late on a Friday night. I like staying at Buena Vista Suites right off DIsney property. WE usually need 2 rooms because my mom travels with us but they work great because they are 1 bedroom suites. Usually I get it for about $100/night (with no parking or resort fees!) but it also has a really nice breakfast buffet included in the price so that saves us at least $20-25 right there. Plus it is right at the gates to Disney so we get a good nights rest and are right there ready to go. Head straight to a park for the mornign then check in at Disney later in the day. Works great for us!
