we have these yearly gatherings for updates, industry info, etc ( medical field)......they cancelled the big one this year, usually in the fall, and are having smaller ones in each region of the state.
the company has clincians all over the state.
so the one for my area is coming up, the secretary left me a message wanting to know if I am attending.
I was going to go but I cannot find a sitter for that day, its actually only the morning for 2 1/2 hours.
hubby doesn't have the type of job where he can just go in later. and since we are coming up to year end he has already used up his 5 weeks vacation and his personal days ( we took a lot of vacations this year ).......and I just found out about this meeting last month after said vacations had all occurred
so I couldn't have him spare one day.
he does have holidays coming up but they happen after the date of the meeting so no using them. ( he can use the time for a different day because of the nature of his job)
I feel like I should go, but I also don't want to have dh call in sick to work for me to attend a 2 1/2 breakfast seminar.
we have some family close by, but they work during the day and my usual people I would ask to watch the kids are out of town.
I don't have a regular sitter to use on a regular basis. I usually will have friends watch them if needed and I do the same for them.
and all the moms on my street work during the day , so there is no other sahm to ask in the neighborhood.
so would you just tell them you can't attend, no sitter available or would you have hubby waste a sick day for this?
( for backstory info if you want it, I only work part time, about 8-10 hours a week, usually in the evening or dh's days off)
