I am picturing her uncomfortably trying to pat the dogs in front of the boyfriend and the dogs snarling at her (then running to you).
Dogs are really great at flushing out fakes.
Of course I would say something - directly, to both of them. Dogs can't speak for themselves. I think it's also fair he knows the reality - wouldn't you want to know if it was your dogs?
One of the things I loved about my DH from the get go was that he loved my dog, and I could literally see the dog liked him, because if he liked you, he put his mouth on your leg and kept it there.
I think it's telling that one of the dogs sleeps with you. Hope you update us as to how this situation works out six months or a year from now.
I know a single guy with like 4 cats & pictures of cats all over his condo. He recently met a girl who apparently just moved in with him and she brought her 4 cats so now they are like, the brady bunch of cats. haha
My bf lives in a house w/ 3 cats. They are not his. He co owns the house with his brother and they are his brothers cats. I can not go to his house for more than about 30 minutes before I start breaking out in hives and having trouble breathing so we just spend time out or at my place.
If they were HIS cats though, and he said he'd be willing to dicth them for me, that would tell me a lot about a guys sense of responsibility and loyalty to family. I believe pets are family and once you take one on, its yours for life (unless something beyond your control obviously, like if you get severly injured, ill or become so poor that you can't afford to reasonably care for the pet).
Luckily, they aren't his and he doesn't really care for cats.
