OK DISer's - I need your feedback.

I have 2 hotels booked for our upcoming vacation - a Hojo Disney view room (NQQ1) and a Premium (Disney view) room at the Ramada Maingate at the Park. So far, the entertainment rate is not available for our dates. So, the Ramada is only $13 more a day.

If you had to choose between these 2 options with our current scenario, which would you choose?

Thank you, thank you for any help you can give me making a decision!:santa:

I think the ramada is a closer walk than the hojo. I have stayed at the ramada twice- and did not mind it at all...

The Ramada, why waste time veryday walking further and finding breakfast?

Hojo isn't anything special without the ENT rate.

I've stayed at both and prefer Hojo. I don't mind the longer walk and I'd rather buy breakfast at Mimi's than count on the Ramada's continental breakfast for any kind of sustenance. Also, the grounds of the Hojo are lush and landscaped and visually appealing while the grounds of the Ramada are asphalt and parked cars, often owned by people who don't know how to shut off their car alarms.

Just my opinion, for what it's worth...

We have stayed at RAMADA before we got to know Hojo. After that it's HOJO any day, but of course, certain things you have to experience for yourself in order to have an opinion. Only after that you will understand.

Ramada Maingate looks scary. Go HOJO for sure if those are your two options. We've stayed at HOJO, Fairfield Inn, Best Western Park Place Inn, Disneyland Hotel, and Grand Californian. HOJO and FFI are the best two on Harbor.

With kids who are 12, 6 and 6 the shorter walk is what is needed. Never stayed at the Hojo and have stayed all but 1 visit at Ramada. Every time I have gone(about 6 times) the room was clean, the staff friendly and all was good.

Yes the free breakfast is not really anything special. But a fridge and micro is the room sure helps. Next trip we are going for a suite.

Totally agree. We just had to make a similar choice and went with Ramada. Ramada is closer, free breakfast and free wireless.

I'm not sure what a previous poster finds scary about the Ramada. We are here now and it's perfectly fine... Nothing scary about it IMO.

We have not stayed at HOJO, but AFTER reading the posts here about it, just may sometime. I guess if you have small children, HOJO is the place to be.

We have stayed at the RAMANDA main gate for a week in the suite, and was very pleased. On the nights we were back in the room early, we were able to watch the fireworks from our rooms private balconey. Our window faced Harbour blvd and surprisingly the noise level was not a problem.

But then again, a small down size was the pizza place downstairs in front. The pizza smelt good and they played Beach Boys music all the time. That really wasn't an issue; it's just everytime I hear the Beach Boys now, I WANT to go to DL :yay:

Good luck on your choice, and most of all, have a blast at DL

We stay at the Ramada Maingate about 4 times per year and absolutely love it. Before we called RM our second home a few years back we stayed at other hotels like Best Westerns, Holiday Inns, and this HoJo. We were not impressed by any of them, especially HoJo. RM is located right across the street from Disneyland. We like it because we can come back mid day and let the kids nap and then go back later that evening. And the parking is free. We notice now that other hotels along Harbor are starting to charge for parking. Everything at RM is included in the room price. No catches or hidden charges. Pool is one of the biggest we have swam in. Breakfast is only ok, but enough to get the kids something in their tummy before Disney. The biggest reason we now stay with RM is the staff. We hardly ever see an employee not smile and the Front Desk is knowledgable and super friendly. We especially like Sam and Katie. Anyhow, you won't be disappointed here at RM. Spend a few more bucks on a premium room. They seem to be newest remodeled and have the best view of the nightly fireworks. have fun!

We have stayed at both. Have stayed at HoJo's twice, and stayed at the Ramada this past summer for 10 days.

I like them both...and would have no problem with either choice.

HoJo's has slightly better beds and coffee in the rooms. but, the beds at the Ramada are nice too.

Ramada has a closer walk and free breakfast (which isn't much, but it simple, but it is something).

We do love Mimi's....and it is close to HoJo's.

Both have ample parking, but I think your car is safer at the Ramada.

You cannot go wrong with either choice, in my opinion.
