I’m debating whether to spend an extra $30 dollars or so and stay at All Star movies the day before our cruise or to keep the reservation I currently have at the Hyatt at MCO. That difference factors in taking Mears bus from MCO to hotel. It’s just me and my 3 yo going on the cruise and we land in Orlando at about 10:00 am. I feel like Hyatt is easier but I’m concerned with not having enough to do with 3 year old to fill the day. I’ve heard pool at Hyatt isn’t that great. I figured at ASM we’d have the pools, the playground and could bus to DS to walk around but it means longer bus ride to port canaveral and not as convenient to get to and less convenient once off the plane since we will have to get on bus to hotel

With a whole day to play I'd say the $30 difference is worth it if you wouldn't mind the risk of not having your room ready until check in time. If that would be a dealbreaker then I'd keep the Hyatt and just plan on taking an uber to a mall or somewhere nearby to kill some hours and maybe have dinner.

The pool at Hyatt is very small but perfect for toddlers- my older kids really just sit and cool off. My kids also like to roam the food court and hit the Disney shops at the airport,

I would enjoy the day at All STar.
the only time i stay at MCO hyatt is when i get in late..like 7pm or later.
get to Allstar and relax. your 3 year old will love it. you will not be as stressed as chasing a child in MCO.

Thanks everyone.‘I just paid for a room at the all star but waiting for my travel agent to get back from vacation so she can switch transportation around. I want that done before I cancel the Hyatt room since the price of the Hyatt room as gone up! Just like to make sure everything is taken care of before canceling

May I piggyback off of this instead of making a whole new thread since it’s generally the same area of a question….

We (me and 2yo) have a reservation the day we land at HYATT (1 day before cruise) and then have DCL Bus transportation added on the day of to get to the port…. Does the DCL bus offer pickup at the resort? Meaning, can I pay for Mears to get to the resort then the following day to DCL Bus to port Canaveral?

You mean if you stay at disney hotel instead of Hyatt? DCL has transport from MCO (that includes Hyatt at MCO) to port and from the disney hotels to port canaveral. So, yes you could take mears shuttle to disney resort and then DCL bus to port from the resort. That is our plan now that I realized it would cost about the same to stay at all star movies, which would be way more fun for my 3 year old then the Hyatt at MCO

Yes that’s exactly what I meant! Thank you! That sounds so much better!

That’s what I thought! Now my 3 year old can run around the hotel grounds where they have a playground and lots of pools and a splash pad verse keeping her close to me in the airport. I figure in the long run it will save me money cause I won’t have to Uber somewhere to entertain her and we won’t need to go shopping to keep ourselves entertained. Plus it will be way more fun to kick off a disney cruise by staying in a heavily disney themed hotel!
