Thanks. I figured out what I’m going to do.

Oh, I didn’t mean to imply that we are indifferent to WDW. I have been going to WDW many times a year since I was born. I just returned yesterday actually. I love WDW and DVC and have an AP. My parents are owners as well. They bought in when I was a kid and still have points. I want the blue card for a few reasons that I’m too lazy to get into right now lol.I don't know anything about HH, so no idea there. But it's not the only game in town. There are a LOT of other hotels and timeshares up there, not just Disney.
But I would sell all of the WDW because your family is indifferent to Disney parks. There are MANY hotels with nice pools and much nicer beaches out there. I would focus on that and changing it up. If you aren't tied to the theme parks, I don't see why you would spend so much on WDW hotels, which are mediocre in many ways.
I don't see why you even need a blue card with this travel pattern. I'd space out Disney trips, maybe rent AKL points every few years, and plan some other stuff.
Our travel pattern is that we go to WDW as a family twice a year (one week on our points and one week with my parents points), DHHIR for Spring Break, a WDW couples/adults trip once a year, a mother-daughter trip to WDW once a year, and then I go alone once a year so I definitely need the WDW points. My husband doesn’t really care about WDW but wants a beach trip once a year. Sorry, didn’t mean to imply that we don’t go or don’t need the points.I don't know anything about HH, so no idea there. Well, have them gratuitously transfer you some points and voila. You're a grandfathered blue card. At least that's current policy. They bought in when I was a kid and still have points. I want the blue card for a few reasons that I’m too lazy to get into right now lol.
I would love for my parents do that but they won’t, unfortunately. They talked about it for years and then I got tired of waiting so I bought my own points. My brother and his family are now interested in coming down as well so I don’t foresee them adding me to their contract anymore. That would be great though.Well, have them gratuitously transfer you some points and voila. You're a grandfathered blue card. At least that's current policy.
Sell the other points, buy them another contract, whatever, everyone is happy.
The other option would be to get some legal advice and put it in trust.
I understand and we have discussed all of this and it’s not an option on their end for whatever reason. They were content with just making me an associate on their account. I don’t understand their reasoning really but we’ve definitely discussed these options. Thanks for the input though. I do agree that it would make sense. They don't have to give it to you or "add you" to put it in a trust, this is part of a larger discussion about estate planning, obviously. Mom, I don't want to hire a lawyer in Florida to handle this. Can't we handle this here with your lawyer now?
And once it's your contract, you can do whatever you want, including only booking things for them.
I’m trying lol! We don’t have the amount of points that we need so I do need to buy another contract. If I were buying more resale then I wouldn’t need to sell a contract, I’d just keep adding in chunks as I have. At this point, we use all of our points and I still end up paying cash for at least one stay a year, which I don’t want to do.I think maybe take a breath and wait for a while. You have a lot of moving parts right now-buying contracts, selling contracts-and I think it might be helpful to just settle and think about it. There doesn’t seem to be a huge rush-contracts aren’t going anywhere.
