WWYD on your last day?

We will be doing a split stay in the fall between the “other Orlando park” and WDW. Disney will be the second part of the trip. I just booked flights and we don’t fly out until around 4:00 on our departure day. We will schedule a car service and I assume they’ll pick us about around 1:00. So what should we do until then? We are staying at Poly. Not interested in swimming as we don’t want to be without a room to get ready in afterwards.

Options I’m considering:
1. Add a park day, head to MK and do whatever rides we can fit in, grab quick service lunch
2. Add a park day and try to get reservation for CRT, which is something we’ve never done. Kids are teen/tweens but I think they’d enjoy it
3. Book a reservation for brunch at another monorail resort restaurant like Chef Mickeys, Whispering Canyon, etc
4. Sleep in and hang at club lounge at Poly-this is the least appealing as it sounds boring for the kids, but I tend to stress about time and this would lessen that anxiety. I also love the club lounge, lol.

Thanks for any input!

Not knowing how much time you'll have to get through MK (or if you've been, will be back soon, rope drop, etc) - I'd say 2 with a plan to LL one or two really good rides, get some good pics on the last day and enjoy CRT. Nice way to end it all.

I would pick option 4. I would rather sleep in, pack, relax, head to the airport clean and not sweaty.

I’ve had tweens they were cranky no matter what I choose. Mine didn’t get up early and by the end of vacation were parented out and were happy for the quiet morning. My tweens were also ‘to cool’ for a character meal, not sure where yours are.

This is definitely a dilemma for us. My older one is not an early riser, but is willing to get up early at Disney. But I agree that by the end of the trip she might be over it. They are both still into character meals.

Honestly, if you don't *need* the time at MK, I'd plan to do a late breakfast at Ohana (like 11:15-11:45) and head to the airport. Use the morning for last minute shopping, walk on the beach, etc.

We tend to pack the night before departure then hit Disney Springs for an early brunch. Still taking Mears Connection to and from MCO so for a 4:00 PM flight
I’d probably aim for a 12:00 to 1:00 PM departure from Poly.
Oh and we checkout before brunch leaving the luggage with bell service.

Makes for a leisurely return home.

I go with low stress, value for dollar but memorable good bye.

We often did a nice or character breakfast before heading out. Was a great way to have some Disney fun on our "last" day. Don't think I'd buy another day's ticket unless it was very low cost to add on. But if it is CRT sounds like a really nice treat. Otherwise I'd do a monorail resort meal.

We always go for option 3. I try to get a later/evening flight out, and we sleep in/have a relaxing morning at our resort. Sometimes we spend time at the pool and then get cleaned up right before check out. From there, we do a monorail ride or Skyliner ride, maybe do a resort character meal, etc. We use that time to do things we can't do when we're in the parks all day.

If tacking on a day at MK to do a leisurely meal at CRT would be a highlight, by all means, I’d do it. If it would be a ‘fun, but no big deal’ thing, I personally wouldn’t bother. Particularly if the draw of squeezing in rides/shows until the very end was there. Would be too chaotic for me personally. Even more so on the last day of stress. I mean, magic.

For a departure that early I would sleep in, checkout at 11 am, store bags with bell services and do a breakfast/brunch nearby.

We go to a park on departure day but our flights are always after 7 pm. So we aren’t catching our uber until 5 pm or so.

Usually, the last day is a good idea for a last minute trip Disney Springs to get whatever souvenirs & goodies we want to bring home.

My hubby gets anxious on the last day.
This trip we have agreed on a time we need to leave the park and he promises to relax.
Our flight isn't until 7 and doing a private shuttle to airport.
We are staying at Epcot resort so going to go to DHS to catch what rides we can one last time after we check out.

I'd pick option 3. I wouldn't want to go to a park with a hard deadline like making a flight. My kids aren't great at transitions and 1pm is early to have to leave, even if you got a couple good rides in. Disney Springs is fun on checkout day, or if you like outdoorsy stuff, you could take the boat over to Ft. Wilderness, visit the horses, or even have a morning archery lesson.

Whenever I've flown out in the afternoon, I've been a mess in the morning at the parks and that was BEFORE I had kids. So I would probably sleep in and grab a late breakfast at Ohana.

I’m so torn. My heart pictures us having a memorable meal at CRT, waving at the castle as we leave and heading to the airport floating on Disney magic! My head knows it’s much more likely my youngest would be arguing about fitting in one more ride, myself being anxious and my H being annoyed that we’ll miss our ride to the airport😆

How many park days at Disney are you planning? Perhaps look at UT for park tickets that have the 'extra day' , see what that $ is. Gives you a 'burner day ticket' for MK table service.

We have done the late morning breakfast before. Whispering Canyon isn't on the monorail and may be too much travel time wise considering a 1pm pickup. Find a true monorail resort breakfast option.

We will have four park days. But I am thinking CRT is just too much, as fun as it sounds. Im hoping to do Ohana earlier in the trip, so I’m thinking either Chef Mickeys or 1900 Park Fare. We’ve never stayed at GF. My DD and I went over there to see the gingerbread house one year and she loved it.

Given this, I would go with brunch at 1900 Park Fare. You can take a look at the rest of the main building while you are there, and then take the resort monorail to the Contemporary to look around at the shops. With the money you save from not buying one more day of park tickets, you can get some souvenirs.
