WWYD - MVMCP date switch?

Would love advice from those with more experience regarding MVMCP plans (going with a 4 and 5 year old and would love to make it to the fireworks before leaving for the night):

Wednesday- arrive at 9am at MCO - plan to rest at hotel then go to Epcot early afternoon and stay through illuminations
Thursday - MVMCP night
Friday - MK (just learned it opens at 8am - thinking we will be tired and won't get there until 9)
Saturday - 8:20pm flight - planned on pool or disney springs or monorail resort tour

Now wondering if we should switch MVMCP to Friday, even though it will be busier than Thursday, so we can take our time the next morning rather than rush to MK.

I think it matters which Thur/Fri you are going. Are you staying at a Disney resort or offsite?

We're going on a Friday for that reason. We will be leaving the next day so we can take our time getting up and going as opposed to trying to do another park.

We're staying at WL. The current date we have booked is Dec. 14th, looking to change it to Fri the 15th.

Switching the party to Friday is one option, and probably the best one so that your daytime MK is also on a party day and therefore less crowded.

You could also switch up your arrival day. Go to MK once you're rested and stay through HEA. Then keep Thur as party day, and do EP on Friday. MK will be more crowded on that Wed over Thur or Fri, but you get to see HEA. This would also give you more time in EP and there's a lot to do there during the holiday season. The storytellers in WS are awesome (don't miss Norway!).
