I'm hoping some of the more experienced Disney diners can help. We are going to Disney in 16 days, and I'm currently rethinking our dinner plans on our last night there. We'll be in Epcot on our last full day, so our current plan was to eat at an Epcot restaurant before heading back to the resort for the rest of the evening. Our current reservation is for Tutto Italia. We have never eaten there and our family (including three boys, ages 6, 10, 12) generally like Italian food. That said, I'm also considering the following options:

OPTION 1: Another Epcot restaurant? One reason I'm second-guessing Tutto Italia is because we can always get good Italian food at home. I've read that Teppon Edo is also highly rated, but we have many Japanese hibachis at home, too. We've never eaten at any of the other Epcot restaurants for dinner.

OPTION 2: A Boardwalk area restaurant? We stayed at Beach Club the last time we were at Disney and enjoyed the whole atmosphere along the Boardwalk. We're staying at AoA this time, and we currently do not have any plans to visit the Boardwalk area. If we eat at a Boardwalk area restaurant - or perhaps at one of the restaurants at Beach Club or Yacht Club - we could easily use the International gateway entrance to visit this area. We haven't eaten at any of the restaurants in that area, and none really stand out to me. Is there a standout you'd recommend?

OPTION 3: Head to Disney Springs? With direct bus transportation from the parks to Disney Springs, we were thinking we might try one of the restaurants there, perhaps Chef Art's Homecomin' or another place someone can recommend? Is it worth the extra time getting to/from Disney Springs to eat there? We currently have no plans to visit Disney Springs, so eating there for our final meal might be nice.

We are also on the Disney Dining plan and were looking to use 1 Table Service Credit (although we could also use a Quick Service credit, too).

FYI: Our other dining reservations include Hollywood & Vine (breakfast), Chef Mickey's (dinner), Ohana (dinner), Boma (dinner), Be Our Guest (lunch), and Garden Grill (breakfast).

Thank you!!!

I have also never dined at Tutto Italia because good Italian is easy to get at home. I know a lot of people like Teppan Edo, but for me, it was the worst dining experience I ever had at Disney; meh food for a really high price for what you got. I would skip it if you can get hibachi at home! If you're looking for atmosphere and food isn't the most important, Biergarten is so cool on the inside (food is a bit meh). Tokyo Dining is outstanding and would be my suggestion. Good luck!

We cancelled our Ohana last night dinner in favor of Homecomin'. DD can be picky, and the menu sounded fun. Besides, not sure how much we'll be able to explore DS before that last evening, so it all worked out good.

We thought about Il Mulino (sp?) at the Swan to check out that hotel, but ultimately decided the same thing. Many fine Italian restaurants at home.

(eta: because "favorite" is not the same as "favor)

Our last dinner was Flying Fish our last trip and I'm planning the same this year. So good! We're having an early dinner and then heading to EPCOT for the night. Of course, it helps that we are also staying at BWV, so it's perfect for us.

If you like Italian, Trattoria al Forno on the Boardwalk is excellent. Great food and service both times we've been.
Totally different food, but Homecoming is also awesome. Best fried chicken!

I would either eat in Epcot or on the Boardwalk. I don't think the hassle of getting to Disney Springs is worth it, as you have so many great choices where you will be. I liked Tutto Italia, but if you want to have something different, my favorites are Rose and Crown (English), San Angel Inn for atmosphere and avocado margarita, (I really want to try La Hacienda, but haven't yet.), Tokyo Dining (great atmosphere, decent sushi), or Cape May Café at the Beach Club. You could tie in a walk on the Boardwalk to this.

It really depends on what food your group likes. Tutto Italia is good but not special. If you like Seafood, Flying Fish is wonderful. We've never had a bad meal there, even after the remodel.
There re many other good restaurants at Epcot or by Board Walk. We have had good meals at Canada, France (both restaurants), Morocco (both restaurants), Coral Reef, and both restaurants at Japan. We've eaten at Teppan Edo. For us, we can get similar food at home cooked in front of us on a grill. They do a very good job. Only you can decide if going to DS, is worth the trip. For us, the answer is no.
Don't forget about the restaurants at Yacht Club and the Swan and Dolphin.

The Cape May Buffet is good, but if I were you, I'd look into the Rose and Crown. I've only been in the Pub for drinks, and it's a fun place. Recent reviews of the restaurant have been excellent, and I'm thinking about giving it a try.

We always spend our last night in Epcot, and we always choose a special restaurant in World Showcase simply because we don't want to waste precious time traveling to Disney Springs or another location. Even a walk to and from the Boardwalk eats up minutes we would rather spend in the park on our last night. That being said, if you truly want to experience the Boardwalk, I would highly recommend Flying Fish and Yachtsman Steakhouse. Both are consistently excellent! We've also had good experiences at Trattoria al Forno.

On a recent visit we had our "last supper" at Monsieur Paul. The service, atmosphere and food were fabulous! I also recommend Spice Road Table for its beautiful setting and tasty food. In our experience, Teppan Edo can be hit or miss, especially depending upon the chef and your table mates. We've also had wonderful and terrible experiences at Rose and Crown, so I'm a little reluctant to recommend it for a final celebration.

Thank you, everyone, for your thoughtful suggestions! I like the idea of trying something that we can't get at home, so I think we're ruling out Italian and Japanese cuisine. Good seafood can be hard to come by, though, and I've heard so many good things about Flying Fish but I'm not sure my three kids would appreciate the food. Lol. I'm leaning toward staying in Epcot and trying out either Rose and Crown or Chefs de France, and then walking over to the Boardwalk afterwards for the candy shop, bakery, etc. (Of course, that said, I am holding on to an early dinner reservation at Homecomin' - is Disney Springs worth it? As a PP suggested, that might be something that can only be answered after we go...)

I have been to chefs de France multiple times and have really enjoyed it. We usually end our trip at via Napoli. I would probably pick chefs de France if you have never been before.

DS is a lot of walking in a big mall - a lovely, big mall, but its mostly stuff I can get locally. It offers some great dining, but I don't think its a destination in itself. If you open yourself to DS there are tons of other places besides Homecoming (I believe in gerunds!). Like Italian and Japanese, do you have easy access to that kind of food where you live? I've tried southern comfort food outside of Nashville, and its always disappointing - for me - because I can easily walk to some amazing hole in the wall places, and a ton of real hot chicken (the only kind of fried chicken) is also in my neighborhood. I can cook that anytime too. So, you might ask what don't you have close by? I love SRT and Restaurant Marrakesh, Rose and Crown is also fun. I think San Angel Inn has one of the most unique atmosphere's of any restaurant anywhere. I can't get that at home for sure:)I don't have a view of the lagoon close by either unfortunately. You've got lots of buffets, so something a little more experience based might be a nice change...

Anyone, just some thoughts and I hope you and the family have a great time!

Yes, great point! And yes, looking at our already scheduled dining reservations, we do have a lot of buffets - lol - so more of a dining "experience" would be nice. There are just so many to choose from! :) I think we will stay in Epcot and try one of the many types of restaurants we can't get at home. I'm sure that my boys would appreciate the time saved from traveling to DS and enjoy extra time in the pool at the resort. :)

Thank you!

Another vote for Epcot - we like DS but it doesn't have the Disney magic like Epcot...to end the vacation with a strong dose of Disney would be my choice (and Rose and Crown would be nice and Germany is a fun buffet with entertainment for the children)!

A vote for either Rose & Crown or Chefs (love Chef's).....but I have eaten at Tutto's and it was very good

Monsieur Paul. The service, atmosphere and food were fabulous!

Was also going to suggest MP at EPCOT, but definitely check to make sure there's stuff on there your kids will like. We loved the food and wine list there, service was great, and we got to stroll through the rest of the World Showcase after dinner.
