Hi all! Have been to disneyworld mostly during "off" times.
This year due to schedules, we are able to go
June 21-26.

I know it will be hot, and that's ok.
I'm mostly wondering just how bad the crowds will be? It's kinda close to July 4th, and I know that is very busy!

Would stay at BC, so we can cool off at the awesome pool.
But will our park time be insane/miserable?

Looking for opinions from peeps who've been near this time frame.
Thank you!

Following! Going beginning of June and curious! Have only been once (well once as an adult) in August and our last day at MK was absolutely insane, couldn't move. But the rest of the time the crowds were manageable (although the heat was barely manageable).

It will be around 8's on the crowd calendars. It's crowded, but not unmanageable. Use your FP+ and get to the parks early. If you wait til lunch to get to the parks, you'll miss some prime ride time. We usually schedule our FP+ for either just before we go back to the room for our afternoon breaks or in the evenings. Then we get to the parks early - not necessarily rope drop, but close. You can get a lot done in those 1st 2 hours, then you still have your FP to look forward to later. Eat at off-times to avoid crowds in the restaurants.

You'll be looking at 7 & 8s each day. The following week would be worse (8 & 9). We went June 24-July 5. Our park days were spread out between June 25th and July 3rd. So the best thing: rope drop, and FP+. The hours of 9-11 are the best for touring and you can get quite a bit done, especially between 9-10. Crowds and heat will really become noticeable around 11. If you're eating lunch in park, 11 is a great time to take a break and go eat, it won't be nearly as busy. Myself, I'd say plan on FP+ for 10, 11, 12 or 11, 12, and 1. Try and leave indoor, air conditioned rides for when the heat starts building, use them as a nice a/c break. Visit Tom Sawyer's Island -there's lots of shade and benches to sit on. Leave for an afternoon break, come back for the evening. Evenings in summer are BEAUTIFUL :) And do the World Showcase in the evening, it won't be as hot.

A June veteran here our last several trips were all in June and quite magical. Hot, humid, afternoon showers and crowds. But we always had an amazing time. The most important thing is ROPE DROP and be at the turnstiles 35-50 minutes before opening. #2 Water! ADRs ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! same for FP #4 Do not leave because of rain the lines thin out!

I swore I'd never go in summer and then went 3 out of 4 years in June. 2 friends had milestone birthdays (2008 & 2009) and I took my niece in 2006, she couldn't miss school. My advice - do early entry. Get the before the heat & the crowds. We took a break back at the hotel in the afternoon, then went back out in the evening. Make use of fastpass. For the heat, I would go into the ladies room and get a wet paper towel and wipe down my neck & arms, it cooled me down.

Thank you for the encouragement!
We have always gone to parks at rope drop.
Also always get hoppers. We like to pop into EP to eat/drink when staying at a resort in the area.

Now for FP+ strategy with PH ticket?

1. Use FP's early at first park, take a swim break at BC, then hop to an evening park? (Can I get a 4th FP at new park, I forget?)
2. Or hit a park at rope drop, take a swim break at BC, then hop and use FP's? (Will this plan make getting a 4th FP difficult?)

Following this one - we will be there June 18 - 25. Since we are teachers, our past trips have been Christmas/New Years, Spring Break several times, and the beginning of July. Although it was very busy each time, Christmas/New Years was ridiculous, Spring Breaks were managable with FP and ADRs (never took a mid day break), and July was somewhere in the middle of the two (crazy busy, but manageable with FP and ADRs, early entry, etc...). This year we are hoping for more manageable crowds since only half of schools are done, with the rest getting out on our trip home... Still got ADRs set up, eagerly awaiting that 60 day mark for FPs, and planning afternoon rest/swim breaks for most days. As always, a day at WDW is better than a day anywhere else!

We have been in June many times. The advice above is good.

We used various strategies including first second and third park for FPs. For DAK, we scheduled FPs based on the long lines in the summer for Kali River Rapids. It can easily hit an hour + by 11 or 12.

We also used FP for Epcot as the first park to ensure we could get Soarin' and Test Track. If Soarin' is not up yet, I would probably not schedule FPs for Epcot if you can use the single rider line at TT.

One day we closed with DHS as our third park and used our FPs there.

The only day we scheduled FPs at the MK was our arrival day. We did not enter the park until 4:30 and it was convenient to have three major attractions booked. We had quite a bit of success getting additional FPs at the MK including some of the headliners.

Our last day we started at DHs for the Star Wars weekend. The gates opened around 7:30 AM. By noon we were done (Including three rides on TOT, but Rockin' Roller Coaster was down all day). My kids wanted to do all of the MK mountains that day. I jumped over to the MK to get FPs on my way to the resort.

Last year was our first visit in June, following 9 straight late April/early May trips. While it was definitely a lot more crowded, I wouldn't call it "insane", and with a good touring strategy, it becomes largely a non-issue.

Utilize EMH and late hours at MK. During the parades and Wishes, you can get a TON done. Plus no sun in the sky to make you EXTRA hot. So, do FP+ at other parks in the morning, spend the afternoon at the pool (tons of activities for kids), or mini-golf, or horseback riding at FW. Then go out to dinner and to a park after that.
