lol! My wife is obsessed with some of his new sneakers so that’s what I’ll be buying her. Don’t ask how much they are. But she’s very frugal in other areas so it’s not a big deal. I have a hard time saying no to her!

But she doesn’t hesitate to mix formal with casual and that’s a thing now. When we got married, she had this gorgeous dress, on her feet? Pink Low top chuck Taylors!
I got my gown for $29 online borrowed the veil but spent like $100 on the flowers. We all have our thing . My rule on purses is don’t spend more on a bag than you can afford to carry around in it. I also have no problem with thrift and love a bargain . I grudge paying full price for anything.

Personally, I am pretty rough on my dress shoes - so I tend to go with good quality, stylish and yet on the affordability side of things :).
But is your man-purse designer? Inquiring minds want to know...
I could never rationalize spending more than $50 on a pair shoes! I think I bought a pair of winter boots for $100 once and felt guilty and I wear them almost daily for a few months for years!

Designer anything would be lost on me.

Last thing I would do is spend money to dress for strangers in Vegas. Rather take that money and buy couple nice outfits for work.
I work 100% remote in my jammies, but they could use some updating. HA HA HA! But then, that may also be why husband said, no really, spend the money. :D

As I've matured, my look has become more classic. Think solid colors, tight color palette and well-fitting. The big blousy (imo sloppy) floral and little house on the prairie things in style now just don't do it for me. But I freely mix medium- high end (no Loboutons!) with Target, Penneys or Kohl's IF it fits my style.

I have a pair of strapless rainbow crocs. I’ve gotten countless compliments on them it’s crazy!
My current favorite crocs are silver glitter; people compliment them all the time! I also have a pair of gold glitter crocs, that are fuzz lined for winter. Crocs are all I wear; I am quite the Fashion Queen!!
(Actually, I have hips, knees, and ankles that don't align, a fallen arch, and my feet are 2 different sizes. Crocs are about the only thing I can wear without some part of my legs going into spasm!)

Not silly at all. Do what makes you feel like a million bucks! There is nothing better for your confidence than to love what you are wearing. You make the outfit, it doesn't make you!!

Look at the designer stuff and if you fall in love, buy it. If you are hesitant, see if you can find a reasonable knock off if it is too much. And don't forget to try Nordstrom Rack, Sacks Off Fifth, and TJMaxx. I was just at my TJ, they have off the runway section, just saw a pair of Chloe sneakers that are usually $890 for $360. You can find a bargain with designer.

I have paired expensive with inexpensive. I don't care who says what, if it makes you happy then mix and match!

Have fun.

My wife has plantar so she often wears crocs or hokas. She's very eclectic in her style! I love it.

This is an interesting topic @eksmama01

My wife is very frugal and kills her to really buy anything name brand. She is more than happy to buy the Amazon Essentials. Since she works in a dental office and has a bad knee I was finally able to convince her to buy some more expensive sneakers for work and the weekends. She does not regret that decision.

I am a bit different. I am more than happy to buy the Costco $15-$25 shorts, pants, shirts etc all day long for work. But I will mix in some nice Cole Haan shoes, Travis Matthew and Tommy Bahama 1/4 zip pullovers etc. The kicker is I will always wait for sales and wont pay full price.

With that said, go with what gives you that little extra pep to your step. Do it for yourself and if that means you had to spend a little more than usual to give you that feeling of being "put together" than go for it.

I have one pair of Cros. Never been worn. Probably won't ever be and I missed my Amazon return window. They do have cute little Minnies on them. I'm not sure what the little doohickeys are called.

I can derail my own thread....even though we've seen O a bunch, we are going to splurge on the VIP tickets! I guess we'll have to drink and eat a LOT of "free" champagne and hors d'oeurves. :D I remembered you were also an O fan.

I do accessorize at work with a messenger bag for my laptop and other accoutrement :)

On night’s out I don’t like even carrying a wallet or my phone if I can get away with it …

Evidently I have big boned aka fat wrists. Every bracelet I've liked is just a smidge too short. :(

-O- is one of the best Cirque shows there. I've seen it 4 times I think, never tire of it.
