WWYD for "early" birthday

My DS will be 3 on Sept. 28th. We are at WDW Sept. 9-15th- so he will not be 3 yet.

I wanted to make this trip sort of his "birthday" celebration.

When reservations ask me if we are celebrating anything, I told them yes, but at the same time I feel sort of weird about it.

Since we are not having to pay for him yet- I feel strange about saying we are celebrating his 3rd birthday.

Am I being silly? What exactly do they do at a restraunt when you have a celebration?

Depending on the place, they may or may not have a little celebration event. Most of the character meals have everybody who is celebrating a birthday stand up and do a parade or dance at their seat. I think they also get a card signed by the characters, some small trinket (1900 gives you a little crown and you do get a dessert (kids get a cupcake at most places). I would not worry too much about it. My daughter is in a similiar situation her birthday is right after we get back. But I call it the birthday zone so its close enough for us to celebrate at Disney, plus its Disney they celebrate Unbirthdays there

When my first grand daughter was born in dec 2005 I said I wanted to take her to disney when she turns 5- But too bad for us-- honey is in retail and is not allowed vacation time in November/december so I hve to take her in September.
Even though its a few months short-- we are there celebrating.

Don't worry about it. Last year we did the same thing and will again this year. DD will be 3 on September 11th. We will not be in WDW until the 25th. We just pick a day during our trip and celebrate that day. Last year we went to 1900 Park Fare and ordered her a cake. They gave her a birthday tiara and a nice placemat. This year she wanted to go to the MNSSHP so that is what we are doing.
