Hi all! Just curious what you think about this. My DH and I are going back to the Poly and staying concierge for our 20th anniversary in September. The last time we stayed there was for our 10th anniversary. We usually stay in one of the DVCs now since we bought there 10 years ago:) Anyways I was thinking of adding the DxDP to our reservation since we are interested in eating at one signature restaurant everyday. Do you think this will be way too much fun to have in addition to concierge or a nice treat? We are only able to go for 4 night:( But will be back for 9 nights in November so not complaining too loudly!

I was able to snag a 7:30pm reservation at California Grill on a night that wishes is at 9pm. We are thinking of adding Narcoosee's (have eaten there before), Citrico's and Artist Point (haven't eaten at either of these). We will be getting APs so we could get the TIW card. Would it be better to just use that? What do you think?

Thanks!!!! Amy

Well, if you add deluxe and you do a signature restaurant every day, you will also have extra dining credits. Do you have plans to use those? Do you plan to make use of the food offerings in the club level lounge in lieu of meals in restaurants? Only you know how many restaurants you will attend during your stay, and if you can work it so you use all your deluxe credits, then you may be happy with the dining plan.

This is if you are interested in the dining plan as a possible money-saver. If you're really interested in the convenience of prepayment, then it won't matter so much to you how much you get out of each dining credit.

I stick with TIW and no dining plan and I eat at signatures. But I do not conform to the setup given by the dining plan (as far as the deluxe I am far more likely to order multiple appetizers and no dessert than I am to order appetizer, entree and dessert) and TIW also gives me a discount on alcoholic beverages, which I usually order. (Plus, if you're not on DDP and using TIW, you can throw in a few other options like Shula's, Il Mulino, Kimonos or Bluezoo at the Swan/Dolphin, or Bistro de Paris at Epcot, or even Victoria & Albert's)

I didn't realize that TIW was available at Victoria & Albert's. We've never eaten there but have toyed with the idea of going there.

As far as the other credits, we would probably eat breakfast once or twice at Kona Cafe and add a couple early lunches somewhere. It is my understanding that the credits can also be used for CS.

For me I think the biggest benefit is for budgeting reasons as this is an added trip and would like to control our spending somewhat:rotfl: However, I'm thinking that if I just put the money away I'll probably end up spending less on food with the TIW card.

You can use TIW at V&A if you eat in the main dining room- it's not good for the Chef's Table or Queen Victoria Room. Two people at V&A main dining with wine pairings can make back in discounts most of the cost of TIW membership. (Remember it's a 20% auto tip there though, not 18%)
