Advice here from all you experts!

So our finalized plan is to do a split stay (talked DH into it). We want to end the last four nights at the poly as the girls and I loved it! Our indecisiveness is on our first resort. I am debating garden wing CR or studio vGF.

We arrive the Sunday and only plans so far are one park Monday with a character dinner somewhere and then mnsshp the Tuesday night and then moving to poly on Wednesday morning.

We will be using the resort Tuesday during the day and taking it easy before the party so I am slightly leaning towards GF as the splash pad looks super cute and the girls want to do afternoon tea there.

The bonus for the cr is the walk back to MK after the party! We would only do garden wing as we won't be in the room much those days except for the one resort day and the pool at CR isn't anything special. So am thinking of saving money that way!

What does everyone think?

These boards are awesome and the advice is the best !

VGF would be my choice :).

You can't go wrong either way, so I'd say to pick whichever one you can actually book for your dates. Both of them come with a pretty small inventory and go quickly.

If you're able to get a reservation, VGF would be my choice. There's like nothing like staying in a brand new deluxe. :) My DD loved the Alice splash pad and it was nice being only 1 stop away from MK!

Thanks. Wondering if I should book cR today just so I have it.
Am really hoping for room only discount at that time because if it is free dining we would have to pick one resort :(

Thanks. That is the one draw to it for me too. I think our girls would love it!! I am nervous about renting points and not being able to cancel and then finding out a discount came out that is better ?

Would VGF be excluded from room only ??

Yes, if the garden wing is available, you should book it. It's usually the first to book up at CR because there aren't very many rooms (and it's cheaper than the tower).

Renting points will always be cheaper (for studios, at least) than any discount Disney will give. Plus with a resort as small as VGF, it may go the way of the AoA Little Mermaid rooms and never be discounted because Disney doesn't need any help filling those rooms.

I wanted to book standard view and have been looking since the day rates were released and there is no standard view available?!? does that seem right already? I even called yesterday and nothing...I played around with dates and cannot see any standard views at all.

Isn't garden view just $10 more per night? Are those rooms available? If so, book that and keep looking for standard view.

On allears they show 60 more per night, we are staying there just for the proximity to MK in case we cannot get VGF so cheapest option would be better!

Right, but if standard view isn't available, then garden view in the garden wing is your next-cheapest option. So book it and keep watching for standard view. You don't want to lose out on the garden wing, right?

What are your dates? Are you aware that the Poly is (strongly) rumored to be in DVC construction mode starting later this year?

Ok, I know this wasn't your question :) but I am not sure I would do a split stay just to move to another monorail resort. It's sort of a pain moving and I can't see how that is worth it.

Are any of the Epcot resorts appealing to your husband for a change from the Poly? Or AKL? Just a thought!

To actually answer your question, I would do the VGF just because I haven't stayed there yet and it's new, but the walking is still sweet to the CR.

I hadnt thought of it that way...my DH was dead set against a split stay and wants to try somewhere new and the girls and I want to go back to the poly (but only if no construction!! too much to pay with construction there). we agreed on this as a compromise...lol

The only epcot one that interests me is Beach club and the AKL does interest me but the distance from everything and having a stroller still doesn't excite me. We have it on our list to visit and do dinner after our AK day!

If free dining comes out we would just pick either poly or CR to get the free dining...if room only is out we can do both!

with a lot of our days planned at MK....I am having a hard time staying off the monorail

Am thinking of doing a week at the CR garden wing to make it easier on us.
