WWYD? BoG dinner times

Hi,

I've secured two BoG dinner ressies for our September trip.

The first is on our MNSSHP party night at 6:35, which means it will cut into a little of our party time. One plus of dining that night is that we will be in costume, with DD2 as yellow dress Belle, DH as Gaston, and me as blue dress Belle. The con is obviously that we would miss some precious party time.

The other one is for 7:55 on a non party night on which there is evening EMH and HEA is set for 8pm. I wonder if HEA may be moved to a later time that night, but I'm not counting on it. We are planning on seeing HEA earlier that week and also plan to stay for EMH. The plus is that if we do dinner this night, we will probably be more relaxed throughout dinner. The con is that it's late for dinner and I would like to see HEA a second time during the trip and this would be the only possible night to do so.

What do you guys think? Thanks in advance!

DH is usually in the group of what makes most sense, so he would book the dinner on a non-party night. I, on the other hand, an all about the details and the feeeelllinngs, so I would love to do the group picture on the party night. Or, maybe your DD can slip back into the costume right before dinner on the other night so you can get the best of both worlds. Guess I'm not much help

I would choose the non party night... we had BOG dinner on a party night and were seated a bit later than our reservation time so it cut into the party more that we were anticipating. And I am all about the party!

The costumes sound amazing but I'd probably still keep the non party night ADR or keep trying for an earlier one the day of the party. We ate at BOG at 4:30 on our MVMCP party night and it was perfect. Don't waste your precious party time sitting in a restaurant!

Agree with others, party tickets are too expensive to waste a single moment eating in a restaurant. Do the non-party night.

I would keep the one on party night
BUT I would eat an early dinner around 4-5,
maybe at resort or QS,
then go to BOG for cupcakes and photos with the Beast.

I have seen reports beast will not be at bog on party nights. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.

The Halloween party is too expensive to waste any of it eating. I'd keep the reservation on the other night, especially if you know you'll be seeing Happily Ever After earlier in the trip.

I would never spend time at a sitdown meal on a party night past 5 o'clock. Plus the tickets are way too expensive for that!

I saw some comments about this too. The language about BOG being a non-character meal has always been in the ADR confirmation, whether it's a party or not. Disney does not consider BOG to be a character meal. The Beast does not come to the tables like a character meal and Disney does not guarantee that the beast will be there (party night or not). If you search for character experiences in the dining search, BOG does not come up. Not sure why there's now the belief that the beast won't be there on party nights, but I guess we'll know for sure when the parties start.

We're eating at Skippers Canteen anyway, but I'm trying to figure out how this rumor started.

I would never do TS on a party night. Even though BoG is one of my favorites. I'd take the non party night for now but keep trying for an earlier time. There is still plenty of time for an earlier ADR to pop up.

Thanks for the input! I'm going to keep looking out for earlier times. Honestly, a 4:30 adr on party night would be perfect...and so the search continues

This is a great idea! There is no requirement that you order a full meal OP. If you feel funny just ordering desserts, do a quick appetizer & dessert. Get your picture with the beast & onto the party!
