WWYD? (Another stroller thread!)

I know there are a ton of stroller threads, but after doing some research I came here to ask a question about my specific situation!

In August I'll be traveling by myself with my 2.5 yo DD. We currently have 2 strollers - baby jogger City Select and a Maclaren. The City Select has a full recline and great canopy, and we've brought it on all but 1 trip to WDW so far. My DD naps great in it (fully reclined with a muslin blanket over the top). However, every trip we have had the city select we've also rented a car.

In August we are planning on a split stay with BLT (4 nights) and AKV; utilizing the Magical Express and Disney transportation - no rental car. The first few days I'm concentrating on MK & EPCOT since we can either walk or take the monorail to each of these.

My thought was to check the City Select at the regular check counter, and then gate-check the Maclaren. That would give me use of the city select on the first few days when we will be at the MK & EPCOT and I want her to nap well in the stroller and then I will have the Maclaren umbrella stroller for later in the trip when I have to use buses to get around. I can't fold the city select and carry it on the buses - it is just too bulky & heavy.

WWYD? I've also toyed with purchasing a third stroller. I'm not finding anything that is very light (like the Maclaren) but that also has a nice canopy and full recline?

Thank you for your advice! :goodvibes

For fun - this is her typical nap configuration in the city select! :)

What about renting a City Mini while you're down there, but bring the McClaren with you? The City Mini has a few of the awesome features of the City Select and is easy to fold up for the bus, so IMHO that's all you'd need, but if you want to bring the McClaren, you could use that in the airport...

August is hot, and I guess you will be taking a mid-afternoon break from the heat with a LO. If you are traveling by yourself, do yourself a favor and just bring one stroller. Two sounds like a logistical nightmare. The Maclaren will be sufficient...and a lot easier to take with you on the bus while still being able to hold your LO hand.

Or rent the car! Then you could just bring the jogging stroller (gate check). With one parent, two strollers is not a good idea.

I was looking to purchase a city mini as an option, but it looks like a weeklong rental would only be about 65 so that is definitely an option! Thank you :)

Yes to a mid afternoon break but I would like to not be strapped to the room for each nap time (1-3 or 4pm). I like the idea of using ME for the luggage delivery service so that is why I'm trying to avoid the car this trip. Thank you for your input!

I have a Inglesina trip as my travel stroller. Its amazing. Its lightweight has a full recline and pretty good sunshade. I bought this for my sons first Disney trip when he was 4 months old. He was happy in there for naps and the sunshade kept him out of the sun. Amazon usually has it for a decent price as long as your picky on the color. I was able to get a navy blue one for about $50.00 less then the black one.

I meant to add (and ask), when you fold up the City Select, is it difficult? (Heavy, I know, but difficult to handle?) We have the CS in the double configuration for our twins, but we just leave it in the car broken down (seats off, etc.)

We had debated bringing ours with us, because we LOVE it so much, but I was nervous about 1) it getting stolen and 2) getting it on/off the buses. For our upcoming trip, we decided to rent a double & a single City Mini (we have a 4yo and 1 yo twins). For the airport, we're going to bring our soft sided carriers and make our 4yo walk...

It is difficult. Heavy and bulky. When we put it in the car we usually take the seat off and store on top of the base but folding all up together is just big and awkward to carry. One issue I have run across is carrying it (in a stroller bag) onto the plane simply due to its size and weight. I did that last august with my dd in the front carrier and it was very tough to manage. That being said, we purchased it for the eventual change to a double stroller and I LOVE it just can't physically handle carrying it without dh.

I'm about to pull the trigger and buy a city mini lol. I think we will use it again on future trips so it will be worthwhile to purchase. It weighs over 10lbs less than the city select too...
