WWYD? Advice on a terrible hotel stay... (long)

OP: If I may be of service. If the manager didn't help. You need to find out who the mangement company is and then contact them.

See, hotels may have the chain name, but it does not mean that the chain owns them. You can go to a tourist place, like Williamsburg Va and there will be hotels across the street from each other with different chain names, but they may be managed by the same management company.

It's quite possible that you may still get your money back. It can take a couple of days to see a reverse credit for charges on your account. They probably ran your card for the two nights plus incidentals when you checked in.

Anyway, I would definitely follow up with a letter, even if you get your money back! That sounds like a horrible experience. Just reading it gave me the heebie jeebies.

I would dispute the charge with your cc.
And I do agree they should do something for you. We had an absolutely horrible hotel stay once, I complained while we were there, was ignored, I complained via email when we got home, was ignored, I also complained on Trip Advisor and was ignored. We should have disputed that charge on our card but I couldn't convince DBF to do it. Good luck to you!
