So am finding costs for 5 ppl (iLs) will be with us for end of April/May for RO. They are deciding between
2 WL Standard courtyard or 1 BRV 2 bedroom villa. I looked at renting DVC points but they are not interested in that since they want to control their FP, ADR. We are planning on paying with disney gift cards & discover cc cb; so better through our own reservations/accounts since I don't think we can pay DVC as such.

They do not want to share a room so would have to be an actual door between sleep quarters.

Pricing per WL room is $470 each ($940 / ni)
BRV 2 bedroom $1238 / ni (they like the idea of separate sleeping quarters, kitchen for their own meals = vegan/vegetarian, 2 bathrooms & washer/dryer).

I know discounts is a hit or miss as they vary but I looked at historical details and there maybe a slight chance we can get some $ off. I like having the idea of the villas but its an extra $2K+ for the same 7 night stay.

Yes we will do some ADRs but the flexibility to have their meals would be nice, but is it worth the $$$?

You are in control of your adrs and fp when you rent dvc. You can't pay with gift cards though.

Yes It is worth it to me.
With a full kitchen we do a Garden Grocer grocery delivery. We order Juice, Fruit, Coffee, breakfast foods, soda, water, beer, wine, cheese and cracker and other snacks. We eat breakfast in each morning as we get ready to head out for the day. We carry our water with us and it is great to have cold drinks and snacks available when we return for a break.
You will also have a stackable washer and dryer. We pack less as it is a cinch to throw a load of laundry in.
With the Living/Dining room you have plenty of comfortable places to mingle and with the 2 BR you have plenty of private space.
It is the best of both worlds to me
Have Fun

FP and ADRs have nothing to do with renting points...

I prefer the villas. The WL standard rooms are a bit small, IMHO. With the villa, you are basically getting the two separate rooms plus a living room with a full kitchen and washer/dryer. Worth is subjective, though. For us, yes it's worth it to me to have the extra space (I find the 1 and 2-bedroom villas to be much more comfortable than a standard room) and, particularly, the washer/dryer as I then pack less and do laundry during the trip. But only you will know if spending an extra $2K is worth it to you. I would probably book the villa and then wait to see what kind of discounts come out.
