WWOHP in the evening

We have just a day and a half to see Universal. The first day we get there around 11, and will go to the Studios. The second day, we'll hit WWOHP first thing. Should we also try going there the evening of the first day? Do crowds die down enough in the evening? Would it be neat to see it all lit up at night, and then we can return again first thing in the morning? All thoughts are welcome.

Yes, I would also try to go the evening of your first day. Crowds do tend to die down, and WWoHP is especially magical at night. Sorry for the pun.

Good point, but it just triggers this question to me: Does IoA ever close so early that you dont get to see WWoHP at night? Night comes earlier for much of the offseason.

yes, from sept 6 throughout the rest of the month, ioa closes either at 6:00 or 7:00 with the exception of two saturday nights, the 3rd and 10th.


first 13 days of october it closes at 7:00pm.

it is still light outside for the september dates usually.

Ugh. Good thing I chose Labor Day weekend then--I'm outtie on the 5th.

while i understand that during HHN it could present staffing problems,
does anybody else wish the powers that be would offer onsite guests an exclusive hour after the parks close vs the am hour especially when the parks close so early?

I'm sure you realize an hour later than close would be harder to enforce logistically. I assume that's why they do it the way they do.

But yeah, that'd be nice.

ioa closes at 10 pm aug 1st-20th.
ioa closes at 9pm every night after that except on the 24th, 29-31, which would be an 8 pm closing.

they do have late hours for ioa open on occassions.
it is for the homies that buy the special packages for events.

did you see the prices for the november special packages for the meet and greet type of deal with the parry hotter peeps???

actually in RL i am, just not by choice. One of the charms of staying onsite @ Universal is ability to not have to set the alarm clock to march to the EMH am drill that i'm usually already sick of by the time we switch over during a split stay to U....then along came harry

Not to mention those early hours are tuff after enjoying the joys citiwalk or HHN the night before

Checking room keys or wristband system would work, but just might alienate the off-site guests

I can't wait to see HPW in the evening! We are staying onsite for only one night but I'm definitely maximizing our HP day. The park will close at 9 pm for our date - I do hope that it's dark enough to be able to get the full effect. I'm also hoping that we'll be able to experience reduced crowds that last hour for FJ and the shops.
