Well, that goes without saying for me. I have no respect for anyone who murders someone, especially a child, whether they be male or female, the mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, Pastor George...doesn't matter. I think anyone who murders a child is evil, twisted, and sick. I don't care what his reasons are for the murder, nothing validates it in my mind.
I respect your opinion, I do, but I disagree 100%. I don't feel the need to separate the person's career and the fact that they murdered their family. Once he killed his wife and kid, any accomplishments he may have had went out the window for me. To admire his career is just not something I can do when I know what he did. It's not that I can't separate the two; it's that I can't give him that kind of respect or admiration when he truly no longer deserves it. He killed his own child and his career doesn't seem all that important to me in light of that. Sorry, but that's the way I feel about it and I realize you don't agree which is your right.
And for the record, I feel the same way about a cop who kills someone too (other than in self-defense of course, I'm talking the malicious, intentional murder of someone like you mentioned above). I would feel the same way about my favorite actress, singer, or teacher from high school. Murder is murder and that is all that matters to me. Again, JMO and you're definitely entitled to see it differently. I do thank you for disagreeing with me in a civil manner though and I hope my post didn't come off as rude. Just stating why I feel the way I do.
