WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

Jo, you need to get to a goal weight, it does not have to be a # that weight Watcher states but it can be a # that you and your Dr agree upon is a good weight or you. Then you "maintain" for six weeks at that weight and then you make lifetime and no longer have to pay unless you go more then 2 lbs OVER your goal weight. You also need to weigh in at least once a month.

I have never once made goal weight in the 20 years I've been off an on program. I get to within a couple of lbs and I just lose it or would that be gain it back (sigh) I am bound and determined to do it this time. I've set a goal of 82 lbs to start with but I have to be honest, I really think I want to lose closer to 90. I will pick a goal weight once I get to my goal of 82 lbs lost. According to WW I needed to lose 105 lbs to get to the top of my range. I really don't think that's a realistic # for me.

This week's WW weigh in from Tues: I lost 1 lb!!

I am still weighing in once a week although I only have to wi once per month because I am still trying to lose.

1.2 lbs down this week for me. I'll take it!!! anything downward is a good think in my book. I can't do my meeting next week, so I am going to weigh in on Tuesday.

Whoo hoo!! :cheer2:
I can imagine it is harder to maintain longterm than to lose. When I went through about a year of not losing anymore, I thought wow, maybe this is what maintainance would be like, but still having 40 pounds to lose, it's a lot easier to maintain than being at goal. You should be so proud Deb. Hope all is well and you are feeling better now.

I have not been eating very well, but for the past 5 days, have been journalling everything even though it's been over my points. I weighed in today and was down .4. I have been exercising every morning this week, and that definitely saved me. I am back to flex. With school restarting, and my son playing soccer, open houses at school and ccd, etc, I was having a hard time planning and preparing my core foods, so I went back to flex 5 days ago, and am going to stick with it but try and eat the healthier core foods as much as possible. I am committing to journalling every single bite I take and to doing a watp tape at least 5 days/ week. I fell out of the exercise routine over the summer, and want to get back into it.

Keep on trucking everyone!! We can do it!!:cheer2:

 Kathy. I am feeling better, thanks, but sooooo tired. Had a sleep study last week and I am trying to reset my sleep clock, have been living on 3-4 hours of sleep a night for a week. Hoping it gets better soon.

Glad to hear you were down today, every loss is cause for celebration! I have been waaaay off the wagon this week, maybe I need to follow your lead and get back at it!

barbmouse and Mary Ann, congrats on your losses this week, great job!!! You all are so inspiring!

Jovo, I always thought WW weight was unrealistic for me and as I neared the high end of the WW goal I had a physical with my doctor and asked her what my weight should be, she actually told me 15# higher than WW's high end for my height. I decided that I would set my goal weight at 10# over WW's weight and my doctor wrote me a letter to WW and that became my offical goal weight. I have gone down 6 pounds under that goal, which puts me at 4 pounds over WW weight, but I like the fact that I have a little cushion. It was daunting to me thinking I had to get to what WW said and once I had my goal adjusted I was relieved because the new goal was something I was confident I could achieve. With all that said, a great starting point is your physician so you know what is best for your body.

I don't weigh at home and I'm always surprised when I weigh-in at the meetings. Down .6 this week. Losing is going VERY slow for me. I was hoping to take off another 10 lbs before our November trip, but at this rate, I'm not sure I'll make it.

Exercising every day, adding some running on the treadmill, and playing around with the +35 weekly points. Last week I used 18 of them. Going to try using a little less of them this week and see what happens.

With my 1lb gain last week and .6 loss this week, I'm even. Think I should be losing more per week. Hoping I can break past this plateau a bit. It gets very frustrating.

I remember that happeneing to me, and when I went to WW they told me to go ahead and use ALL of my 35 points. I did just that and I lost. Our leader told us that she thought she would lose faster if she ate LESS points than her daily goal and she GAINED!

Does anyone have days that you just can't stop eating? I have been having that for 3 days now. Going over my daily goal. I am just so hungry!

Tonight for dinner I had a 6 inch subway (turkey) and after that I had cashews and then I had a WW ice cream and then I had some rice puffs. I was still hungry. I had BD cake on the counter and I took a teeny slice, and drank a bottle of water and fell asleep. It's been like this all day for me. I have eaten a salad, green beans, WW lunch, oatmeal , a peach, a couple of WW candies...and a Greek Yogurt (Vanilla)...Sheesh! What is up with me?

I am journaling everything. The cake...a real slice is 7 points, I gave myself 3 points.

Do you have days like that too?

.

Do you have days like that too?

Yep, unfortunately, I'm having one of those days today:sad2: I'm hoping I wake up in the morning refreshed and back on track.....

Somedays I'm more hungry then others. I have to admit since I've pretty much cut caffine and diet soda out of my diet, I have have not had one food binge since then. I really am starting to believe that diet soda is a trigger food. I'm slighly concerned about how I'm going to handle Disney this week and staying fully on program. I'm starting to pack some prepackaged foods to keep me statified. I'm most concerned that there will just not be enough salad and veggies to keep me full. (Jo do ya think Dfan can bring me food from her fridge LOL)

Ms. Heimlich - WEIGH to go! That's a fantastic weight loss.
leanne2255 - just keep at it. It will come off, sometimes the body just can't keep up with what the mind wants!

I'm off to do my saturday chores. I will check in with everyone later.

Mat will you have a car there? I am sure Dfan would bring you food if you asked her to, no doubt about it!

Where are you staying on site? I am trying to talk myself out of going to WDW and spending $ when I am in Florida!

I am pleased to announce I spent about 2 hours online, but I managed to put in enough codes and try different car rentals that we now have a car for $140 for the week !!! :goodvibes I now feel much better about eating. :thumbsup2 We'll be at Pop Century and I can pick up some point friendly meals and snacks at Walmart. I won't have to worry about carting it on the plane and have it in the room I think I shall still take some WW items that I have from the meetings with me.

Jo, BOOK THE ROOM.... think of how much $$$ you'll save by planning ahead. :rotfl:

Have I ever told anyone how during a fit of I don't know what I showed up at Disney, no reservation and didn't think twice about checking in to the Poly concierge for two nights..... RACK RATE. What was I thinking :lmao: (It was a wonderful three days, two nights though... We still talk about it. It was our last Poly trip Sept 2000.....

Hi everyone... I've taken a couple days to skim the thread and hope I can take part as well. I've even brought a recipe... to show I'm serious. :goodvibes

Just to introduce myself... my name is Rachel, I'm 24. My husband and I have no kids yet... just 2 spoiled dogs. I rejoined WW 6 weeks ago because I just got tired of feeling blech and noticed my knee was starting to hurt just from carrying all the extra weight... This is the 3rd (or 4th?) time that I've done WW, although it's the first time not being in college, so having some more control over food options. The first time I hit my 10% but I've gained 40+ lbs since then? To be honest, I'm not sure, but it's enough for me to be embarrassed when I run into old friends. I am currently 181.4 lbs... I've lost 12.4 and I'm hoping for another 50ish, which I currently think is doable (huge... but doable). I'm doing the flex plan and since I've told you everything else, I like long walks on the beach (which are in abundance in Missouri) and I'm a Capricorn.

And to stop myself from rambling, here is the recipe I promised. It's crazy delicious. I noticed there were a lot of Mexican type recipes already shared, but this is so stinking easy and tasty. I've been told you can change some ingredients to make it more Italian in nature, although I haven't tried.

Mexican Stuffed Shells
30 jumbo pasta shells
1 lb lean ground beef/turkey
8 oz package fat free cream cheese - cubed
1 packet taco seasoning
1/4 c. water
1 small onion - diced
1 large jar salsa
1/2 c. fat free shredded cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 9x13" dish w/ Pam.
Cook pasta as directed - make sure it's still firm (al dente if you will).
Brown the mean, drain. Add onion and cook. Mix in cream cheese, taco seasoning and water in with the meat. Stuff pasta w/ meat mixture. Put shells in pan and cover shells w/ salsa (may not need entire jar).

Bake for 20-30 minutes. Cover w/ cheese - can put back in the oven so cheese will melt.

Makes six servings (5 shells) = 7 points.

It got the husband seal of approval... in fact, he decided it could be added to our list of "staple" meals.

Thanks for letting me be long winded! I'm looking forward to going through this journey with you all :flower3:

Rachel

Rachel

Welcolme! :goodvibes This thread is very supporting. Please stay around and join us.

Rainy day in NYC - I've had my oatmeal for breakfast and I really need to get moving and do some housework today. So much good on TV though Decisions, Decisions... Final game at Shea, The Trouble with Angles with Halley Mills (my favorite Disney actress) and then the week of General Hospital on Soap Net. One of these days I need to break down and get a DVR.

Have a great on program day.

Most of you know about (or have posted on) the thread:

Where are the Pictures??? http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1825617

Basically, the thread is for posting pictures of progress thru your weight loss journey. I find the thread VERY inspiring!

I just updated my first "after" picture post with a pic from this past weekend. If you've never visited (or posted), come on by and "see" us!!

Keep up the good work AND SHOW IT OFF!!!

Ms. H

OK I had a non scale victory today that showed me that I really have lost inches.

I could not believe when she said I was 38. She also suggested I stop in the slacks department and get a pair that actually fit me LOL

:cheer2::cheer2: That is awesome! You get so used to seeing yourself in clothes that have become way too big that it takes a stranger to point out that you should "feel" your clothes! Congrats!

New to this board and love this thread!!:thumbsup2

I wanted to share my WW experience. I reached lifetime this week!!

Welcome! I too love this thread, the people here are so encouraging. Congratulations on your Lifetime goal! I know that others have pointed out how encouraging the Lifetimers are at the WW meeting but I want to add to that. We have one Lifetime member at our meeting and she never misses a meeting. We have all told her how inspiring she is to us, not just because she made the goal and is maintaining it, but because she has BTDT for just about every obstacle one of us faces and has still "survived". She is a walking talking example of a person who has learned how to live well. Your members will appreciate you as much as we do her.

Boy have I missed a lot in the last two weeks! I am still dealing with some medical issues and I haven't much felt like being on the computer, but I miss "visiting" with everyone. I had my monthly weigh in on the 12th and I was down a pound this month, however, I think that pound has found its way back, but that is okay, I am still under goal (and hope to stay there).

I hope this finds you feeling better.

I need to get back on track. I made very poor food choices last week. Somehow I only gained 2 oz. but now I need to get back at it and stick with it! Three more pounds and I'll have "lost" my toddler :)

Keep going! You are doing great!

Congratulations on everyones weight loss!! I weighed in last night and managed to have lost 2 pounds.

:cheer2::cheer2:

Weigh in after 2 weeks away from WW and l lost another 2.8 lbs!! 5.4 total, and only 60 more or so to go!

Wow! I am going to be happy if I only gain 2.8 pounds. You must be so proud of the past two weeks!

Hi Everyone!:yay:

I weighed in yesterday... Down 2.6 for a total of 72.4.

:cheer2::cheer2:

I wonder if you are not eating enough. You are working that body so you need to fuel it.

Hi everyone...

Just to introduce myself... my name is Rachel,

Hi Rachel! I tend to be chatty and have a hard time reining myself in here ;)

Ladies, I need to WI tonight and am not looking forward to it. To all of you who vacation and come back maintaining or slight gains, my hat is off to you! To those who lose, well...:worship::worship::worship:

I had a plan, I was not planning on going nuts on food but I felt like a train wreck after the first few days :sad2:

I am back on track today but did I ever find out what craving is like again after six months of none and it is not pretty.

Hiya! I've done WISH stuff before, though limited, but I've never joined this board before.

Here is my story, shortened, of course: I joined WW 6 years ago & lost 40 lbs. I became a leader & have taught off & on for 5.5 years. I currently teach one class. I'm below my official goal but I'm 9 lbs more than my optimal weight of 135. It's not a huge deal but I'm sick of it.

All summer I put my weight loss on & off hold as life got crazy. But I just got back from a 4 day DlxD trip to WDW where I ate & ate & ate. We are going as a family to WDW Nov 27th & I have 2 months to lose 9 lbs. Pretty much, one lb per week. I HAVE to do this as I'm going to BB a couple times & my sister who is going with me is also losing weight and she isn't allowed to be cuter than me. :rotfl:

So here are my good qualities & bad:

Good: I love exercise & my dh does too. We take family walks, I run 3 miles fairly often, we also have a gym membership which we go together & do muscle training twice a week. We also have Wii Fit which I've been doing regularly. I'm a good cook & have a pretty large WW knowledge after all my years teaching.

Bad: I'm a junk food junkie. I'd choose diet soda over water & F.F. Pringles over carrots every single time. I easily throw my hands up in the air & ask, "Why am I trying so hard?" And I bake wedding cakes (I have one this week) which throw me of course when I have to test the flavors. I HATE wasting points on this but feel I have no choice as I refuse to send out sub par cakes. I eat when I'm bored or stressed. I love food almost more than life itself.

So if I could join for the next two months that would be awesome as I need all the help I can get! I generally get to 140 & give up. I really want this to be the time I get to 135 as it really is what I look & feel best at.

THANKS!!!!!

The good news is you KNOW you CAN do this!!! You have lost so much already:worship:
Other than the baking wedding cakes, I think most of us are in the same "bad" as you.
THere is a lot of great info here and though I don't post as much, these ladies are a great support! So jump on in!!!!

Okay small victory here. We went out of town this weekend and I still lost 1 lb!!!!:dance3: I was so excited!!!!
Gonna go play WII fit now:yay: :yay:

Hi there! It sounds like you have a goal that is attainable and that you are motivated enough to strive to each it. As Natenapril said, we all are in your boat with the exception of the cakes and I think that it is possible to manage that obstacle. Stay with us and let us know when you are baking and maybe we can find some way to get around all the points.

I wonder if CORE would work for the next few weeks. You would be able to have your meals and could save your weekly points as you needed when you bake.

I had a huge gain yesterday, a little over 6 pounds! My leader said to drink a lot of water this week and that the flight may have had something to do with it but I know that I did not follow the plan at all after the first day. I follow CORE so I should have been able to manage and while I enjoyed the week I had a lot of cravings Sunday night. I have not had them since I started and it was not fun. But I'm back and I made a big pot of CORE soup, shopped for plenty of produce so I have good choices in the house and am back to planning meals.

Core doesn't work for me right now, tho I think you are right in thinking it's a good idea for me, but I have a toddler at home & find avoiding simple flour & sugar at home with a toddler is more than I can handle.

I'm baking tomorrow, Thurs, & Fri so I will keep you all posted of how it goes.

Yesterday went so well that I was actually excited this morning to get up & eat healthy. I was responsible today to provide donuts/snack at a meeting at work. I brought homemade muffins (I didn't eat one) W.W. yogurt, and granola bars, and grapes, bananas, and apples. Everyone loved it & I was able to eat 3 points worth of stuff and not feel deprived. Way better than donuts!

Thanks for the support!
