WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

I haven't figured out how to do the multi-quote thing, so here goes:

Pixie Dust 112: Welcome and congrats on your excellent loss.

Ms. Heimlich: Darn those scales. I hate when you do everything right, and it doesn't reflect on the scale.

CGBee: Welcome and congrats on the 0.6 loss. Good luck with tracking and with exercising.

tiggerlover: Good luck with your struggles--hope you come through your rough patch with flying colors.

mikamah: congrats on your loss.

Grumpy's Wife: Good luck as you go on your own. We're here to help in any way.

Toledo13: Good luck with your next weigh-in.

I weighed in tonight and was surprised to see a loss of 0.5 pounds--I didn't do any tracking, blew off drinking my water, and basically ate what ever I wanted to. I have been exercising regularly, and I guess that is what helped. My story: I am 46 and spent the first half of my life being told I was "too skinny" After I got married, I gained a bit and did weigh watchers for 3 months. I had great success and was within 6 pounds of my goal weight when I found out I was pregnant. Forget WW and any sort of diet. I was actually down to within 10 pounds of goal at my 6 weeks post-partum check-up when the stress of working full time, carrying for an infant, etc hit me. I just kept gaining. I tried WW off and on, and had some success, but would then go off track. Last October, I restarted WW, and lost about 20 pound in 12 weeks. Since the start of the year, I've lost an additional 16 or so. I'll do well for a while, then run off course. I do feel so much better than I did, and I am enjoying exercising, so hopefully, I'll start back down with the losses soon.

Sorry for the long story. Hope everyone has a great week.

Tiggerlover- Glad to hear you had a loss this week. I am finding with core, that the healthy eating I do when I'm being good, definitely can reduce the damage of the splurges I've had. Good luck this week. Hopefully now the party is over, you'll get back into your healthy routine.

I think you are right, I am definitely finding that with Core I can relax one day a week, get back to Core and not have to worry. I feel Core just is a lot more flexible for me and it also offers me the discipline that I need the other 6 days of the week.

toledo13, Let's hope next week is a better one for you!

NCRedding, congrats on your loss! :)

Hi, everyone!
I have been reading this thread for the past few days and I love the support you all give one another. I would love to join you all!
_______________________

My name is January. I am married to a great man and we have a beautiful 3.5 year old daughter. I never really had a weight problem until about 2004. It was a very busy year....I got married in February and we had our DD in November. I had a high risk pregnancy and was put on bed rest. I gained a lot of weight...about 70 pounds. I joined WW shortly after and lost almost 50 pounds. Then I stopped going. Not sure why. I completely went off the plan and within the past two years I have gained the 50 back plus about 25 more.:scared1: I am a full-time student (so is DH) and I work full-time at an elementary school...plus, I am a mommy. I don't take anytime for myself. I think that is the main reason I gained weight. I am only 5'1" and I weigh 201 pounds. I don't even recognize myself. I am a cone shape so all of my weight is on my tummy, chest, and back. I look pregnant and I am uncomfortable most of the time. I am mostly afraid of heart disease and diabetes. Luckily, I am healthy (aside from being overweight).

I restarted WW on June 16 and so far I have been sticking to the Flex plan perfectly. I have been following the 8 healthy guidelines and I have been walking a mile every morning.

I hope to learn a lot from you all and I will offer support and hugs when needed!

Thanks for listening!

I'm Susan. I've been doing weight watchers off and on for the last 10 years. I never really had a weight problem until starting about 10 years ago. I didn't make adjustments to my eating/exercising as I got older. So, my metabolism changed and the weight started to creep on. But, most of my weight gain has been in the past 3 years. Now, I have about 50 lbs to lose.

I am currently doing weight watchers at work. I like it because it is more convenient. My last 12 week session was not that great. I lost 5.2 lbs. I was hoping for more, but at least It wasn't a gain.

Right now I am struggling because I have been put on a steriod for 3 weeks. Anyone that has ever been on a steriod knows that weight gain is almost inevitible.

I hope everyone has a great week!

:welcome: January and Susan!! This is a great group, and we love new members!:goodvibes

Well, I weighed in this morning. I really thought I would have lost something. I was out every morning at 6:15am and I walked between 25 and 45 min per day with 3lb weights. Where I live all there are are hills. I don't think I've walked on flat land at all! I have had sweat pouring off of me! I stayed on program. So, I ended up gaining 1.2lbs!! Seriously, I don't know what to do anymore. I think tomorrow I'm going to go back to points but still just eat core foods. I'm going to keep walking. Something has got to give. Hope everyone else is having a better week!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

Thanks for the welcome!

Don't be discouraged about the weight gain. I had a leader who also works as a fitness instructor at a local gym. One week she had to cover for another instructor who was on vacation. She had her classes AND her co-workers classes to instuct. She was so sure she would lose more weight by working out double what she normally does. Well, come weigh-in time she said she ended up gaining 4 pounds! She was upset about it and ended up doing research. She discovered that her body (muscles) was retaining water due to all her working out. Perhaps, this is what is going on in your situation. I would keep working out and drink lots of water.

Good for you for working out! That is always hard for me...brisk walking is all I can do or the elliptical.

:welcome: to all the new WW folks ...glad to have you all on board!

bucci ~ on your gain this week. It's so hard when you've been doing all the right things and don't see what you expect to see on the scale. I think you should drink extra water with all your exercising...that weight loss will catch up with you next week

toledo13 ~ for you too. I had the same problem last week and after AF left, the weight went right back down.

NCRedding ~ congrats on your loss! :cool1:

tiggerlover ~ congrats on your loss! :woohoo: Hope things are going well for you this week. I also find that Core allows me to splurge and not have the huge fluctuations I was having while on flex. It seems to be a better balance for me.

I weighed in today and was down .4 :goodvibes . Hope everyone has a good week!

Welcome to January and to Susan, too! Glad you joined...does that mean I'm a veteran now that there are other newbies....it is my one week anniversary!:rotfl:

Marianne~ I find thaI typically gain a bit when I start to exercise or increase exercise, but the weight loss catches up later.

Cepmom..:woohoo: on your loss.

I just got back from weigh in and am down 1.4.:woohoo:

January, Jennifer and Mary, Thanks for the support. I'm going to increase that water and tweek a few things and see what happens. My leader said not to give up. I told her, I've come to far to give up now!!! I refuse to go back to what I was. Before I started, I couldn't even walk up a flght of stairs without loosing my breath! Now, I can walk hills and feel great. I couldn't stay for the meeting today because I had my neice and nephew with me too. But, I knew the group was here for the support I need. Thanks again!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

:welcome: daisy_77 and mousemgr2!

 bucci, some times what we do just doesn't make sense on the scale and it is VERY frustrating. Some good points were made, there could be a number of things responsible for the gain, our bodies are funny some times. Hang in there, stick with it and hopefully next week will be a better one on the scale.

cepmom, Congrats on your loss and thanks for the support. Unfortuneately still splurging here, yesterday was our monthly potluck at work and I didn't make the best choices and today was DS's actual birthday and I did have a tiny plurge with DS's dessert today and some salsa and chips, but I am still hanging in there, was only up .4 this morning, so by weigh in on Saturday if I stay on track the rest of the week I should be alright.

pixie dust 112, great loss for the week. Congrats!

Thanks again for the welcomes! I am so glad that I found this thread!:goodvibes

Today was good...I stayed within my points, got my water, fruits and veggies in, exercised, and took my vitamin. Wow, now I only need to do this everyday I will be at my goal before I know it!:rotfl: Sounds so easy.;)

I hope you all had a great day!

tiggerlover-Wow, congrats on the awesome weight loss!:worship:
I think you were entitled to a treat once in awhile. You only gained .4 so that isn't too bad. :)

Do we have an official weigh-in day on this thread or do we just post on the day we weigh-in at our meetings (or home)?

Have a great night everyone!

Just popping in to say hello from Disney! So far I've been tracking every day and staying on program. I walked 5 points worth today LOL Gotta love Epcot and MGM. I'll be back in a few days to give my story. Far too late now and I've got to get to bed Hope everyone has a good weigh in this week.

Enjoy the trip. With all the walking you're doing be sure to have at least one :mickeybar as a treat while you are there. I can't wait to hear all about the trip when you return.

I can pass on that Mickey Bar but I have to tell you there is a dolewhip calling my name

I had a miserable week. I ate like a hog. I have to skip my meeting today due to a work conflict. :headache:

I am really hating myself right now.

I know i have gained. :(

I am trying again today. It's a new day right?:confused3

Carrots are good!

Hang in there! You are not in this alone! All we need to do is take this one point at a time. Don't worry about before, and don't worry about tomorrow. Just stay focused on making good decisions today.

Keep on trying!
