for those who have been on WISH some time, do you remember our old WW weekly challenge??? I'm determined to resurrect this!!

Sooooo............what shall it be for this week? I'm WI on the too high end of my range, almost stepping out of the range and I have a long weekend planned so I'd really like to drop a couple before leaving Saturday. Hormones are working against me this week too.

anyhoo

my buddy group has been focusing on reduction in sugar. How about that? Anyone up for a maximum 10 pts for the week on high-sugar treat? I would not count sugar-free items such as jello or pudding, but I would count sugar free candy. do that make sense?

i'm talking like candy, cookies, Barry's cafe twists, ice cream, etc. We know we have all found great low-pt treats, but too many for me puts on pounds and/or halts the losing:mad:

Also remember your :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking::drinking: :drinking: :drinking:

I'll join. I hit my goal last week and decided to give myself a break on Friday and Saturday and not count points and eat whatever I wanted. Well This morning I was at 135. Darn I hate when you jump up so quickly. Luckily I know from past experiences it will take a few days of being good to get back down. I did great yesterday, and will make sure that the rest of the week is good. It was a nice break, and I figured I would do that prior to having to hunker down for the next 6 weeks to get through my maintenance program at WW's prior to making Lifetime.

So no more than 10points on high sugar treats this week.

I will try to cut back on sugars as well. I have just started checking back in here and doing my WW plan again. I did okay last week but I know a lot of my points went to things that were not real good (wine coolers, coke, donut holes). I am going to challenge myself this week to put a limit on those.

It is going to be a hard week for me because it is a very busy one but I will limit myself to 10 points of high sugar as well.

Thanks for the incentive to do well!
Jen

I know I have a problem with too much sugar, so this would be a great challenge for me. Must convince myself that staying inside points doesn't work so well when lots of the points are used for Dr Pepper. ;)

Count me in. Thanks for the challenge, ohMom.

Sure, I'll join ya! Only thing is, sugar is not my problem really but, I'll be watching it just for this weekly challenge....might be interesting to see what I see. :3dglasses

Thanks!

Okay i am part of that buddy group that is already focusing on low sugars but I just need a 4 more days to see the number I set for my mini-goal. Then I am part of the that long weekend soooooooooooooooooooooooo I'll be

coming home to re-lose the few I picked up from there;)

Count me in on the 10 pointers through Friday ::yes::

ok i'll use this post to track my sugar points if you all don't mind :)

MON: angel food cake/strawberries/FF cool whip -- 2 pts
TUES: no pudge brownie single/ FF cool whip - 2 pts
WED: 0 pt sugar
THURS: 1/2 piece bakery cake - couple mints - ?? 8 pts
I totally blew it thursday I think! I planned on having 1/2 piece of cake at a baby shower (pt value?) then while there totally forgot about the challenge and had a couple mints too! oops!!!

Good luck everyone and I won't be back until WED next week -- someone please start a new challenge for us monday!!!!

I'm only here until friday too -- forgot to mention that before ;) but I wanted to get the ball rolling. BTW -- I don't have to be the one to start the weekly WW challenge thread each monday -- anyone jump in if you have a good one! please!

I'll use here to track my sugar too. I am going to also post my points eaten here too. to see where I can improve.

Monday - 0 sugar points

Late Night Snack - 3.5 pts total

I don't normally eat a late night snack, but I was off all day since I let my blood sugar drop by eating lunch later than normal.

Melanie - I love that you are posting what you ate! It is great for ideas since I am just starting up again.

I will have to admit that I had 2 cans of Coke yesterday - very stressful day at work and I drank it without really even thinking about it. Today to help me, I took all of the Coke out of my fridge so that there will not be a temptation.

I was really proud of myself for not having chocolate though. I was craving it last night but resisted the urge (even when I tried to come hear and read posts for motivation and it was down). Instead, I had 2 wasa bread. It made me feel good not to give in to the candy.

So, Monday - 2 cans of Coke for sugar.

Goal for Tuesday - NONE. It is a beautiful day and I have extra outdoor exercising planned to keep me away from the fridge.

Have a great day everyone!
Jen

Hi all,

Here's my sugar tracking post.

Monday:
Key Lime Sherbert: 2 pts
4oz Dr Pepper: 1.5 pts
Tuesday:
0 pts
Wednesday:
1/4 cup Light Ben & Jerry's with Strawberries: 2.5 pts

Thursday:
Chocolate milk: 3 pts

Total so far: 9 pts

Hmm .. only one point left. Still I'm way way lower than I would normally be this time in the week. I think this challenge is a good thing for me. Thanks ohMom. :)
Anyone have any ideas for next week's challenge? This is only my first one - I'm not sure I'm creative enough to lead yet! :teeth:

OMG, so I was thinking that I was being good because I wasn't having sugary treats...........but I had a Kashi Bar for my afternoon snack and I just realized that there is sugar in that as well as the luna bar I had yesterday. I don't tend to think of them as sugary because they are all natural and heathier bars.

So Molli- Do I count the above

If so,

Monday Luna Bar 3.5
Tuesday Kashi Bar 5

Yikes 8.5 total and I didn't even think I was eating sweets, lol!!

funny mom just asked me the same thing. I think everyone should set their own "sugar" foods, but for me I would NOT count kashi - luna bars or the like. yes they have sugar, but they are so good in so many other ways, protein, vitamins, minerals. I was thinking more the "empy calorie" sugar foods (candy, cake, pop, cookies, ice cream, etc)

bottom line though -- this is YOUR challenge so you all make it what you want it to be for you::yes::

Did good yesterday - just Kashi bar and I am not going to count it Melc - I think that they get me through a lot of times that I would totally "blow it".

I am on a peanut kick - I have to count them tho so I don't have way toooooooo many !

Just finished walking and today I am seeing some people I haven't seen since last Sept so that is my incentive to be good today too!

Ok,
I agree I wasn't even thinking that was a "sugary" treat but it did have sugar. I don't eat them too often, I just happen to buy 3 Kashi and 1 luna bar over the weekend so I had them to snack on.
