I grabbed a single serving packet of Hellmann's Dijionaisse (sp?) to put on my grilled chicken sandwich but I don't know how to count it.

The packet did not have any nutritional information and for the first time I noticed that it said something like "Creamy Dijion Mustard" on the front. I always thought it was a mix of mustard and mayo and so I just counted points for it like it was mayo but now I am not sure. :confused: The Hellmann's website didn't have nutritional information for it and I can't find it anywhere else. Does anyone know for sure how much it is? Have I been cheating myself out of a point or two?

Thanks!!!

I used to think that too but there is no mayonnaise in my Dijonaise, I read the label to be sure.

It contains: Water, vinegar, corn syrup (YIKES not Atkins friendly), mustard seed, salt, modified corn starch, canola oil, egg whites and lots of long chemical names and spices.

I'll bet it is a free food for you :) In one teaspoon:

Calories= 5
fat= 0
Carbs =1
sodium=70 mg
Protein= 0

Thanks Kath!!! Isn't it amazing what you can find out here?

With those numbers it would in fact be a "free" food! :) :) It is always nice to find out that you have been over-charging yourself rather than the other way around! :p This means that lunch was only 7 point rather than 9! :)

Hi Becka,

Don't despair. There is no mayo in it!! I eat it all the time, and the calories are so low that I don't even count it as points. I think there are something like 20 calories in a serving. I don't eat it all the time, but that is what I use when I have a sandwich or bratwurst. I don't even mark it on my journal. I guess I should since they say.............if you bite it write it, but I don't.

We just finished our bottle over the weekend so I don't have mine. I have a book at home though that has brand item points in it. I will check tonight.

Becka and Mel, just remember that there are 5 calories in one teaspoon. That isn't much dijonnaise...so there are 15 calories in one tablespoon. That's closer to the amount I used to use. :)

Up to 25 calories on WW is a "free food" so I think my little packet of dijonaisse (probably less than a tablespoon) is free. :) That is good to know for the future and now that I know that I will probably keep some at home to use. I only used it at work because they don't have Miracle Whip light so this will be a great alternative.
