WVRevy in the Hot Seat

I've been trying all day to figure out how to put together a coherent trip report. I've given up -- too much to remember at once. I've decided to go with several shorter posts about one or two things at a time. Here's the first one -- and definitely one of my top favorite memories from this event.

Saturday morning, DH and I roll out of bed early in order to make the first Millionaire Show at MGM. The first contestant goes down, a second contestant comes up and goes down quickly. A third fast finger is played and a man from one of the stagefloor seats wins. A minute later, as the man takes his place in the hot seat, the host introduces him as, "Eric from West Virginia!" DH and I started screaming . . . "That's Eric from West Virginia, that's WVrevy!" It never even occured to us that there could be another Eric from West Virginia.

Eric makes it to 16,000 points when the time out horn blows. As the show ends and people begin leaving the studio, we come running onto the stage floor yelling for Eric and DH Elaine. What a surprising way to meet DIS members for the first time.

DH and I stayed with Eric and Elaine during the break until the next show, and then we sat with Elaine while Eric resumed his game. I won't say exactly how it ended (that's Eric's story), but suffice it to say none of us knows anything about hip-hop artists who have started up clothing companies.

First, let me say that this game is SOO much fun, but nerve-racking as all get-out when you make the hot seat...lol. I blew my first lifeline at 1000 (didn't know for SURE who Kate Hudson's mom was) and was stuck with the 50/50 and the "Ask a Total Stranger".

Immediately after the 16000 point question, the horn sounded ending the first show. I was escorted back stage to wait on the crowd to file out so I could find DW. So I wait...and wait...and finally walk back out to see her talking to this couple sporting pins around their necks. Naturally, I just figured she was caught up in the trading frenzy again...lol. It was a GREAT surprise meeting Robyn and her husband

Anyway, here's the question I DIDN'T know. I didn't get it WRONG, 'cause I stopped rather than guessing

What clothing line was recently started by Hip Hop star Russell Simmons ?

I had an answer in mind, and it DID show up, but there was another that COULD have been right, so I used my lifelines, and here were the two possibilities that were left:

c) Phat Farm or d) FUBU

I'll post the answer tomorrow sometime. Still, while I was disappointed that I didn't do any better than 16k, I was thrilled that I even made the hotseat, and even more happy about getting to meet and talk to Robyn, who as of that point I'd been upset about having missed.

I doubt if I'll post a full report either, so let me just say that it was a REAL pleasure having met everyone !!!

congratulations, I didn't know you made the hot seat. You guys are just too lucky, your wife was picked to be one of only a few to design a pin. What a great trip you two had. It was great to meet both of you and put faces to names.
by the way, Suzanne and Leslie made it to the hot seat too. They will both post their winnings too. All I can tell you is that Leslie said it is alot easier in the audience.

Nice to know I'm not the only one who gets tripped up on fashion questions.
