Just got an e-mail that said...

Great news on the Wishblade! If you have been thinking about getting it, now is the time! This diecut machine can be used on all true type fonts, as well as certain types of clipart. To get a closer look at its features, go to: www.wishblade.com

Effective IMMEDIATELY:

All Wishblade™ Personal Media Cutters will now come standard with the Wishblade Advanced software (the Basic system will no longer be available).
When you purchase a Xyron Wishblade Personal Media cutter, you can now choose from one of 3 great Font / Shape Bundles!

The MSRP of the updated Xyron Personal Media Cutter is now $449.99 (plus a flat shipping rate of $15).

If you would like to see the Wishblade in action, it will be available for use this Saturday at our monthly crop! If you are interested in ordering one, please e-mail me or any of our local I Remember When consultants

Thanks for the information, Patty! Would love to know how this works, I have read so much about it! Do you have one or are getting one, Patty? Does anyone have any completed layout they can show that uses this machine?
That is a lot of money for a die cut machine, but what a great investment!

I know Carrie (wtpclc) has one. She had just received it when I cropped with several weeks ago. But it had been damaged in shipping and she was waiting for a replacement part (she said customer service was great about it) so I didn't see it in action.

Arghhh... I got a "great" deal on it last month. Over $100 off retail. Now it's still about $100 less than I paid. Don't tell dh. I love it, though. First one was not right, but the shipped out a new one no questions asked and it has been workign fine since.

This one is going on my wishlist. I can't get it now though. When I first looked into it, I didn't realize you could use the fonts on your computer, so I didn't think about it more until I saw Carrie talking about it.

Soooo, how do you "rationalize" this one? ;) What is the Sizzix break-even point, maybe? I would LOVE to add this to my list of must-haves!

BTW, is it portable (as in, could I take it w/ my laptop to crops???) I NEED RATIONALES!!! :rotfl2:

I have one and love it. At first I bought it to put in my store and let croppers use it, but the more I researched it, the more I found the machines being abused and used and broken by careless customers, so I decided against it. Most people end up selling all of their quickutz and sizzix, but I am not at that point yet. If you get the advanced, you can cut any font that you have on your computer. Some fonts work better than others, however.

It is portable and you can use it with your laptop. That was one of the main questions that I had when I bought mine. The software doesn't come with a certain amount of liscenses, so you can install it on all of your computers, I currently have it installed on 3 of them!!!!

The fact that you can print any downloaded font from Word and you can print clip art with some finnagling, makes it break even pretty quick. 7 die sets at half off is what I remeber, but don't quote me on that. You can buy sets from them. Mine came with 2 fonts and 1 shape set and I do not plan to buy anything from them. There's a Yahoo group that has a lot of free downloads too.

If you do buy their fonts, it's 2 for $70, or was last month. I think that break even is at 12 or 13 Sizzix dies sets.
