Wrong name on MY email w/PIN, but...

Hi all....

I just wanted to share this with you guys waiting for codes.

I received an email and a separate post card from Disney Destinations in Dec with a PIN and code for the discounts thru 6/12, the only problem is it wasn't my name.... it was the same name on both, but just not mine. (Is there an S.Lavigne waiting on a code??? If so, it came to my house.)

I had not done anyone online at disney.com in months so I was kinda shocked that i got them.

I checked my account on disney.com and all was fine. So I called today and explained what happened, that it was my email address but not my name. The CSR said that the PIN number was not connected to my zip code, but then he took some of my information -- name, address, etc. -- and said well I see that your household qualifies for this same discount!!

Again, I just logged onto disney.com and priced hotels a few times in the last few days, and our last stay on disney property was in '02...

So I gave him some dates and asked him to price something for me... We are members of starwood and will be using a combination of govt rate & points to stay at Dolphin for 4 nights for an average cost with parking, resort fees & taxes of $78/night. I can't match that with a Disney hotel even with the discounts.

Oh, and when I called the 407# and said I wanted info on rates, I was prompted with "have you stayed at a disney property in the last five years" when I hit the button for yes, it said, "please enter your pin #" ..... like that was an given or something... then there was another button to press if you didn't have your number with you...

Anyway, I'm not trying to give anyone false hope or anything, I just wanted to share with y'all what happened in case someone else can use it to get what they want!!

I too have gotten pin codes for someone else twice. I called both times to see what happened. Although they couldn't tell me what happened, I could not use the codes even though it was MY email address that was in with MY information.

If you called the number on the PIN, it's a phone number for PINs. you enter it and your info comes up (at least what's attached to the PIN) If you look, there are many phone numbers, one on the pins, one for AP, dining, etc. Usually you can do anything with most phone numbers anyway, but those PINs come with a number that ask for it. If you don't have it with you and call the number you can still get through anyway. I have done so.

Is there a specific phone number that I need to call to see if there is a pin attached to my name? It turns out I have been deleting them (we just decided on a trip)! Just wondering who to call!

Any number you call for WDW reservations should be able to help. The number we received on a regular mail PIN is 407-939-7684 (an AP PIN for Jan to Jun 12) The number on the PIN for the various dates throughout the year (rec'd upon saving a vacation) is 407-939-7804. All different numbers!
