I have questions as we have never been to Universal. With Harry potter, it is necessary now.

1. I have a child with autism who is 10 yrs old, is Universal similar to WDW and will give her special accommodations? I am worried the long lines will be too much for her.

2. My plan was to arrive late, wake up refreshed earlyAM and hit Universal and IOE one day. spend another night at the cheaper hotel before heading to WDW. Is this reasonable or is there a better way? The dates I am looking at are feb29th to march 9th.

3. I would like to take my iPad, is there a cheaper hotel that has a safe available?

4. Is there any transportation from universal hotels to WDW besides taxis? And how far away is WDW?

5. I would like to take my camera to universal, will they make me stow it in a locker? It isn't that big. Photopass doesn't work at universal does it? What about wet rides?

6. Are taxis really only$5 from hotel to universal? That sounds too good to be true. Also are the two universal parks close enough to walk in between?

7. Eating at universal, are there less crowded restaurants? I am looking but do not know about crowd levels for each.

Thanks for your help! :wizard:

go to guest services to help you.
they have a program that will be beneficial for you.

when you stay one night at the onsite hotels, you receive the perks for the day you check out.
unlimited usage of the express lines and early entry for ioa/parry hotter.
you could check out of the UO hotel and go back to the park.
store your luggage with valet.
when you leave for the cheap offsite hotel, retrieve your luggage.
i am assuming you will be using a taxi to go to the other hotel.

valet can call a taxi for you.

3. I would like to take my iPad, is there a cheaper hotel that has a safe available?

i have no idea.
the onsite hotels have safes in the rooms that will hold your ipad.
it did for mine.

4. Is there any transportation from universal hotels to WDW besides taxis? And how far away is WDW?

you can use the mears shuttle from UO to WDW hotels.
or, you can use a private car service instead of a taxi.

when i go from the motherland to the darkside hotels, i use car service.
i go when it is not rush hour and it takes about 17 minutes. that is when there is no traffic.

for the rides that are 'hand free', free lockers are available to store your items.
if you have a cell with you, put it in a baggie when on the wet rides and stick it in your pocket.
or rent a locker for your belongings on the water rides.
UO has a photo system but it does not work they way disney's does.

if you are talking about going from an offsite hotel to universal, some taxi rides could be betwen $5-8.00. it depends on which offsite hotel you are coming from.
yes, you can walk from the studios to ioa easily.

7. Eating at universal, are there less crowded restaurants? I am looking but do not know about crowd levels for each.

each park has a couple of restuarants. some take ressies in advance.
each park has counter service places with seating.

eat before 11:30 or after 1:30 if you want to avoid crowds.
