Hi All,

So I just upgraded a 4 day base ticket to an Annual Pass yesterday. For some odd reason the GR CM made our start date March 30th?! So now our Annual Passes say they expire on March 30, 2017 instead of June 9th which was the first day we used our tickets. Please give me any experience you guys have with getting something like this resolved. Kind of sucks after such a great vacation that now I have to sit on the phone and get this fixed.

I fortunately caught one of those errors when they were handing me the passes ...I think the computer passed on the discounted ticket purchase date instead of the 1st used date.
Since I was still at Guest Relations, they were happy to re-issue new AP with the correct date.

Hopefully you can get a good resolution since you are not at WDW. (I'm certain they will fix it in person, but you need a valid pass for FP+)

They probably won't be able to do anything over the phone. I wonder if there was something about the ticket that made it say March 30th, like maybe it was sold through a third party or was a promotional ticket, or something. Not that those may affect it, but just putting it out there. But visiting a ticket window or guest relations they should be able to see the date that you upgraded and first used the 4 day ticket and change the date. It should be the first day that the 4 day ticket was used.

I could fix it in 45 seconds if you were standing in front of me, but I have no idea what kind of help you'll get on the phone. Good luck.

Wasn't a discount ticket or anything. It was bought directly through Disney. I never even thought to check the expiration date because the GR rep didn't give us anything with it on it. He just said I have to take these to the back to fix the expiration date and will be right back. All I have is the receipt for the upgrades. Will call on lunch and report back. Will not be very happy if I have to wait until September to fix it in person.

March 30th was probably the day you purchased the ticket (or paid off your package) and the CM didn't adjust the renewal date to the activation date. (The first used day has nothing to do with when the renewal date is).

There is an annual pass phone number of the disneyworld website->contact us section. you might have to dig to find it.. Someone has posted in the past getting it successfully changed over the phone but took many attempts to get someone on the phone that was able too.

Many say use the ticket once first as it will fix some of these things for the CM doing the upgrade.

Do you mean use the AP again or the 4 day? We upgraded the 4 day on the last day we were there and thought that would prevent any issues. Clearly not. Such a downer to a pretty good trip.

oh... I have on clue what happened then :) I do know a new batch of college program is in the parks now and it sounds like you got a winner..

The Annual pass phone number I was referring too is on this webpage to try to help you out.. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/help/phone/

I don't think he is CP but maybe ICP. He was from Brazil and had only been in GR for a month. I almost asked for someone else when he first had issues but wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. At least he was pleasant but we had to repeat many things over and over because we would catch him entering birthdays wrong or addresses wrong. I'll report back after I call.

This happened to me a couple of years ago. They couldn't do anything about it over the phone. I had to wait until my next trip to go to guest relations.

We also had this happen to us last July. It seems like when upgrading to an Annual pass the default date in the system is the original purchase date. The Cast Member assisting us insisted that the date was correct. I told her to cancel the entire transaction and I would go elsewhere. A manager overheard and came over. I asked him point blank if the policy had changed regarding expiration dates and he said no. He fixed the date in he computer while the Guest Services agent looked on. There was no apology or any acknowlegement that she had screwed up and had given out wrong infirmation that could have negatively impacted our upcoming vacation. The manager acted as if he was doing me some big favor. It really left a bad taste.

I have had this problem twice - once when I upgraded my annual pass when the new annual pass options first became available and once randomly a few weeks after that. For the first, I noticed it while still in the park. I went to guest relations and they were able to fix it in about 10 minutes. The second time I only became aware when I got an email that said my fast pass choices would be cancelled if I didn't buy a valid ticket (my expiration date had jumped up about 10 months in their system). I called Disney and they were able to fix it, but it took about 30 minutes. The person I spoke with needed to contact a manger and I was on hold for a long time. They were able to fix the problem, it just took a little longer.

Thanks I don't mind waiting on hold. I plan on calling when I get home and basically not getting off the phone until it is fixed. I don't do well with the "it'll get fixed when you get here" promise as that has bit us in the butt before. I'd rather have it fixed today. I almost called while I was still in Orlando (at the airport not Disney) but I decided to wait until I got home.

They'll fix it over the phone. It's not a bid deal. Don't stress about it. Common and easily remedied.

Could some of the issues been from being International and the fact that they record dates (month/day) in a different order than we do in the US? I don't have any clue if they enter the dates manually or click on Aug/Jun/etc on the drop down list so just tossing it out there as something to watch for if upgrading with an International student.

@ravenclawtrekkie explained it a few days ago. If the process the upgrade one way, the date the ticket was issued is pre-populated and cannot be changed. If they process the upgrade another way (the correct way), then today's date is pre-populated and they are supposed to update it to match the date the original ticket was first used. So, it's human error, but should be easy to fix.

Yep. Annual passes live in two "levels" of our software. One level is specifically for upgrades and allows a CM to specifically input the expiration date. The other automatically uses the date of issue - which, if used for an upgrade, looks at the original ticket's date of issue.

The date is entered month-day-year which I guess could confuse some ICPs.

When I renewed my AP last year, they put in the wrong renewal date (they had it expiring a month early). I called and was on the phone for roughly 30 minutes. They fixed the date to the correct renewal date. Easy peasy.

On hold. They sware I used the annual pass on March 30th. Weirdly that wasn't even the day of purchase as we had them at our 60 day mark which was back in February for an April trip we ended up cancelling (no. Packaged each portion purchased separately). We weren't and never planned to be in Orladno on March 30th so have no clue where that date came from.

Even month day year issue doesn't make since because it should be 06/09 and a slip up would have been 09/06. So I honestly no clue what happened.

Got it fixed. Roughly 20 minutes on hold to get it all worked out. AP ticketing said it was just easier to put us on hold and talk to ticketing services themselves then to have us reexplain everything and the call potentially get dropped in transfer. Now to go pick the puppy up from the groomer and relax.
