My son really wants to get a book and have it signed by Ridley Pearson (kingdom Keepers author)he will be at the Writers Stop tomorrow starting at 9. Does anyone have any advice for how to do this? Should we be at the park right at opening and where is the writers stop? I'm assuming you buy the book and get a wrist band at the Writers Stop? Thanks for any help :)

I tried to meet Marty Sklar one time at Writer's, we got there around 8:15 and ended up standing in line until 12 and didn't get to meet him. I'd get there 30 minutes before park opening if it's something you're really serious about. Usually they'll go along and give wrist bands out until they run out, they should be selling the books on streets of america as you go through the line. Reminder that the new book doesn't come out until April 1st so I don't really think they'll have that one.

Writer's Stop is located down the walkway from Tatooine Traders, behind American Idol, and is attached to Sci Fi Dine-In. You'll probably end up waiting in a line on streets of america.

Have fun!

I was at the Downtown Disney book signing today and you can buy Kingdom Keepers VII: The Insider. It has an early release at the book signings. To get in line for the book signings, I believe you must have KK7 as one of the books to be signed. (You're limited to 2 books being signed, 1 of which I believe must be KK7. But if you buy 2 copies of KK7, then you can have 4 books signed, 2 of which being KK7).
Get there bright and early because the line grows quickly. Enjoy!!

Thanks...So it sounds like we buy the book at Writers Stop or while in line? Do we enter at rope drop and then just head straight back and get in line? I wonder if someone will be directing us to the right spot at RD. I'm assuming they pass bands to the first folks in line.

We made it to the park in time and we were able to purchase the book and meet Ridley Pearson. My son was thrilled! He read the book all day long while standing in lines and we carried in the next day too. Here is how it worked -

First, nobody outside the park knew anything about the sigining so we just arrived before park opening and were about 9th in line at our turnstile. We actually were originally lined up in a much longer line to the far left if you are facing the gates and were further back but then right before opening they opened up two more Mickey head entries and we moved over and were 9th. They opened up the park at 8:45am for entry. We walked straight back to the Streets of America. The line was about 25-30 people deep (how did they get there so fast??) so we got in line to buy our book at the newspaper stand. The line was marked and obvious. They were efficient and the line moved fast. We also were handed little flash light key chain thingies with Kingdom Keeper on it and the Writers Stop coffee shop (where the signing was) handed us samples of carrot cake cookie (very sweet but yummy). After we bought the book we were given a wrist band and got in the line to meet Ridley Pearson and get his signature. My son bought one book so could get two signatures. We only needed one but others brought or purchased some of the previous books in the series. He signed and you could get photos from 9-11am and we were done by about 10am. We heard them go to a certain point in the line and tell people that they could buy the book but may not have time to get it signed. People that arrived after this were directed inside to buy the book but could not get it signed.

Just sharing our info. since I couldn't find information in advance other than here. :goodvibes

We were there too! It was a really cool experience. DD wants to be an author when she grows up so it was neat for her to meet a real one, especially since she was already a fan of his books.

We were actually 3rd in line, but we had an early ressie at H&V so we were already halfway there at RD. That was the only reason I made the ADR, and wasn't even sure it would be necessary. But I was amazed how quickly the line grew. DD is very attached to the flashlight keychain, hasn't let it out of her sight since!
