2. If you are staying at a WDW resort, you will be offered new MBs (which you can refuse, if you like.)
The only possible scenario is that your 2014 MBs might (MIGHT) have low batteries, which will ONLY affect their "long-distance" uses... which mostly is only their ability to activate
on-ride photos and videos on 2 or three attractions in all of WDW.
Even with a dead battery (unlikely the case) the MBs will work for every other use at the parks, resorts and restaurants.

Get some new ones. No cost. Collect them in all the colors. Also, you can deactivate old ones and then you can reactivate them too. You are in charge. It's all in your My Disney Experience account.
