This may help to keep your formal wear wrinkle free - ;)
If you are flying, call the ticket counter at the airport (not the airline toll free, the local number) and ask if they have garment boxes. Delta does and provides them for free and they will hold a suit and dress at minimum.

This is an idea - can you pick them up before your departure and box them up at home and bring it with you when checking in at the airport or do you have to box it up right there?

Never had a problem in the past picking them up early but that was over a year ago. Try calling the local number for the airline (may take some doing as they're not always listed in the book:( ) and ask the agent. You may want to stop at the airport if it's not too far from home as an "in-person" visit can get more done. Be sure to bring proof that you're booked or at least a frequent flyer I.D.
