After years of sun tanning and abuse my age is showing as I have serious wrinkles on my neck and face.

What is a good budget cream to help?

There are many expensive creams on the market that do absolutely nothing despite what people may say. Because they spend so much, they justify it by "seeing results" which you can also get from an inexpensive cream. I use http://www.amazon.com/RoC-Retinol-Correxion-Wrinkle-1-Ounce/dp/B00027DMI8 .

It is inexpensive and gets the jub done. If you have a teen at home who has any acne, have his/her pediatrician prescribe retinol. You can get refills every month. The tube lasts forever though, so just refill once and keep it for yourself. Retinol is for acne, but is also is the one ingredient that has proven results for lessening wrinkles. You use it very sparingly though. It's not a cream that you lather on. It's a gel. I use it around my eyes for crow's feet lines, but that's it.

Walgreen's has a great product that's under $10:

I have used it for over a year and love it. 30PlusSome on YouTube is who I first heard about from.

Cheap, natural and works great ...........cold pressed castor oil. Only drawback is that unless used very sparingly, it can be messy.

A few years ago I sat next to a dermatologist on a plane & picked her brain. She said Alpha-hydorxys (AHA) in AM & retinol at night.
I use Neutrogena (on her recommendation) typically & have had great results. Well priced as well.
I am 48 & was not much of a sun girl until the last 10 years--then baseball changed that.
How I KNOW this regime works--when I put the lotion on my face, I rub the residue on the backs of my hands. OMG--you can really see the sun damage on my arms, but my hands look GREAT (as does my face). When I run into old classmates they cannot figure why I don't have wrinkles (well, not many)--well I don't smoke, always use sunscreen, AHAs & retinol, & hydrate well.

Great options in skin care have explode in the last 5 years. Peptides & vitamin C are also good ingredients that work. But AHAs & retinol are the core. If you do nothing else, use these.

BTW retinol can be irritating--some use it every other day. I don't use it in the summer as it does make you extra sun sensitive.

lots of answers to this....it all depends is the real answer:goodvibes
Cheap? coconut oil is very nice as a night cream, and is excellent for skin moisture and repair.
That said, my preference has always been simple Olay products for many years.... along with some Retin-A cream I had on hand from an old acne prescription. (used very sparingly, maybe once a week)
I like Olay Micro Regenerist, and the 7 vitamins formula with no sunscreen. Both are light, easily absorbed, and provide moisture that keeps my face smooth. I use the lighter 7 vitamin cream mostly, the heavier (red jar) cream at night a few times a week.
The truth is once those wrinkles are there, nothing gets rid of them (I am middle aged!:crazy2:) but Olay provides a nice bit of moisture to prevent undue aging IMHO-
FWIW, I have very oily skin naturally,so I have to be careful about what I use....

Wrinkles CAN be lessened with product (and not just Botox and such)

There has been much innovation in the last 5 years--but AHAs & retinol both encourage the natural production of collagen, which is your bodies regeneration tool.

My 69 year old mother also uses the AHA (AM)/retinol (PM) regime & has also seen improvement since using it--she is a nurse & most usually think she is 5-10 years younger than she is.

(Last November someone guessed my age on a trip--they said 34!:rotfl2::banana:)

Also, stop tanning and start wearing sunscreen if you be outside for more than 15 minutes (even on cloudy days). The best way to repair a wrinkle is not to get one in the first place.

In my earlier post I said to use prescription Retinol, but I meant Retin A! Years ago I got a Retin A script from a dermatologist to use for wrinkles, but when I went to fill the prescription, a generic was not yet available and my insurance wouldn't cover it for wrinkles It was going to cost $300 for a tube. I said nevermind. Fast forward to having a 15 year old DS with some teenage acne flair ups in the colder months. Took him to his pediatrician, she writes him a prescription for Retin A and it only costs $8.00 with monthly refills. He doesn't use nearly that much, if you get my drift. You do have to use it sparingly and stay out of direct sun where it's on your face. It's less expensive now than what it used to be, even paying OOP, but it's not over-the-counter.

I use this day and night, underneath Aveeno moisturizers:

I used to get Hyaluronic serum from my salon/spa for about 4 times the price. This works just as well, and lasts about 3 months. I had some really odd, deep vertical wrinkles on my forehead (probably from squinting) and they are almost gone.

I am looking into this... I have almost no lines(47) but that one line in my forehead is bugging me.....
