My husband read on the Universal site that there is some sort of free wrestling show on sound stage 21 every thursday night beginning at 6:45 (how lucky is that she asks sarcastically). Anyway, has anyone ever attended this?? How long is it and how painful will it be to sit through it. My 16 year old wants to go and ....well I would appreciate any info you have re this "attraction". I had never even heard of it before and we go to Universal every year.

The only wrestling show that I have seen was during a parade such as mardi gras or halloween when they toss beads :jester:
maybe some of the guys here knows about it. but as for me, I must make sure that my DH doesn't get wind of this! :D Linda

There have been a few threads concerning Impact Wrestling lately. Here's a link to the latest one. Hope it has the info. you're looking for.:D

Thanks Geminimom,
I checked out the thread and it does unfortunately seem to be true. Looks to me like all the wrestlers who were kicked out of the WWE for drug use are the "stars" at Impact wrestling. Oh well I suppose it is only a couple hours out of my life and how long will my 16 yr old still want to go on a family vacation.

Bella, laughing at your post. I am traveling w/ 15 and 18 yr old sons and assumed I'd be sitting through the wrestling show. Even though my 18 yr old used to wrestle, he said he has no interest in seeing the show. You asked how how long your 16 yr old would still want to go on the "family" vacation?? Well, we stayed at RPR last July and it was my 18 yr old's idea to go back again this year. I was surprised he wanted to go last year and so sure he'd end up changing his mind for this year, that I put off making the air reservations until it was almost too late! I figured I could always cancel the hotel, but airline tickets are more permanent $$ lost. Have a great time!

Eclpz,

I got until 18 yrs with my older child but the 16 yr old can be bought so I think I can get at least two more years out of him. I must say that the theme parks can be fun alone since we went before we had the kids but truthfully, it is just not the same without a child no matter what age tagging along. My husband says the little one will be like the guy on the Disney commercial. You see the mother telling him he cannot go on the trip and then she says you need to be with your wife and children (or something along that line) and you realize the child is about 35. I love that one.

I can relate to that! Husband, two sons, and I had spent most of our 7 night vacation together last year before it dawned on us! It's just that we were having such a great time being together that we didn't think about it. Out of all the trips driving across the country to Wyoming, etc. , to Canada, WDW, etc. my sons said last year's was the best vacation they'd ever had. Hoping this time around goes as well.......although a little bit of "non-together" time is definitely in my plans this time! lol

Nope, the drug thing is only true in a few cases. Some of them simply didn't want to deal with the sleaze that is WWE and some are trying to strike out on their own. Yes, I did my research because my son is wild to go!

Why not send your kid and DH and go shopping or relax by the pool? I intend to go and let my husband relax.

The "sleaze that is WWE"? Pfft. So that's why they join a company that has dancers in cages on their show, one of which got their top pulled off at a show? (yes, with nothing underneath). If the WWE is sleazy, so is NWA-TNA. And yes, the "big" names are all WWE rejects. Very few are there due to drug problems. Most are there because they aren't good enough for the WWE.

Sting is not a reject. He just wants nothing to do with the WWE. Jeff Jarrett is the son of the NWA/TNA owner. Raven and Jeff Hardy were both too odd for the WWE to work with. A. J. Styles is one who is doing his own thing and he could join the WWE if he wanted to. Ken Shamrock is highly successful and also doesn't want to deal with the WWE. Many of the members are new guys and one is even a former Survivor contestant (yuck!). Like I said, I looked into all of this and it is like a soap opera!

The point is that they're not all druggies or WWE rejects. As for dancers in cages and tops being pulled off, they're too smart to allow that on TV. That's only for their PPV's unlike the WWE.
