Wrapping Presents.

God Forbid I ever have to make a living off wrapping presents.
I cannot do it for beans.
You should see the Christmas presents I wrapped tonight!
They're twice the size,just because of the wrapping paper!
It is HORENDOUS!!!

I'm actually thinking of starting a gift wrapping business next Christmas. I just have to figure out exactly how it will work...

I love wrapping presents, and I'm very good at it. My first job when I was 14 was in this trinket store in the mall as a seasonal employee, we did a lot of gift wrapping. This old lady who had worked there forever taught me how to "professionally" wrap and I had a knack for it. Odd shaped objects still throw me for a loop, but I save boxes throughout the year for those. I always have to line up the seams on the edge of the box (no visible seams, they're worse than VPL!) and I get all fancy with the ribbons and bows. Oh, and all my wrapping papers have to coordinate with each other, and it all has to coordinate with my tree decorations. Yeah, I'm a pain in the butt - but's it's worth it when it's all done and they look so purty.

My mom is the polar opposite. She hates wrapping with a passion! She'll just use gift bags or shirt boxes printed with a design on them. Sometimes she'll grab the empty bag away from you after you take the present out, then run back into the bedroom and stick something else in it. For birthdays, she never wraps stuff. I'm lucky if a birthday gift doesn't come in the shopping bag, complete with receipt. I think she does it because she knows it drives me nuts!!

Ooh, giftwrapping. Fun! I suck at doing boxes, somehow, but love doing anything else. My specialty is wrapping packages so that there's no earthly way of knowing what's inside; for instance, wrapping a small Pokemon plush together with two plastic pigures in boxes so that they ended up looking like a small pyramid. Most of it was air with the paper suspended by tape to stay in shape, but that's the kind of challenge I like. Trying to hide a present's true shape by sculpting ridiculous, complicated designs out of the wrapping paper holding it only makes giving gifts more fun. =)

I love wrapping. Wrapping is my favorite. My brother told me tonight that I buy gifts just to wrap them, which is true.

I use a ridiculous amount of tape though. The gift receivers always have a tough time opening them.

i can not wrap a presant nicely if you were going to pay me all the money in the world and hate wrapping gifts so i'll see what the ones i'm buying for family member turn out as in a few weeks
