We will be arriving a day earlier than when our vacation at the Resort starts and staying offsite and are going to DTD that night. I have read good reviews on both WPE and EoS and we would also like to go to goofy's or ghiradellis afterwards so don't won't to much to fill us up to much to save room for the other. How big are the sandwichs at both places? Are they big enough to share?

TIA

I don't know what WPE is, but Earl of Sandwich is wonderful! The sandwiches are about 6-8 inches long. One is enough to share if you get chips or something else. I tend to share with my kids. Now, the kids' sandwiches are HUGE for kids. I have a 5 and 3 yr old, and if they ate the same things, I'd buy 1 sandwich for them to share. I usually end up eating half of one and my husband eats half of the other. DH usually buys a sandwich for himself, but he's a big eater. I am happy with my half a boy sandwich.
Okay, I openly admit that I buy myself a whole sandwich to take back to the resort. I LOVE EoS!

WPE platters are huge. They typically come with sweet potato fries which are good. You can definitely share. Earl of Sandwich serve huge sandwiches too. The deciding factor may be cost...idk. WPE is much more expensive than EoS. You might want to take a look at allears.net if cost is a factor.

Cost would not be a factor. We have 2 dd's ages 14 and 10 that at Disney are to excited to really eat, so I will just order 1 plate for them to split and then share mine if they need something else. My husband would love the sweet potato fries. Heck they sound good to me..

Sandwiches are pretty big at both locations and can be shared. I'd recommend WPE, the food there is really good!

Can't go wrong with either; sandwiches at both places are big enough to share and then enjoy dessert afterward. :thumbsup2

both very good - maybe even excellent for counter service type food. I generally walk up and peruse the menus and see what appeals to me on any particular day. They make it so easy since the locations are across from each other. Sometimes we even split up and parts of the family go to one or the other.

we are an E o S family. All of us love them....ANY SANDWICH.....I also can say that WPE is great too.....but if we were going to do a sanwich and then ice cream sundaes or something equally as GREAT.....I would do EOS...
Would make my DTD visit complete

We are a WPE family! We can't go to Disney now without going there at least once each trip. :thumbsup2
But EOS is also good. You really can't go wrong with either.:goodvibes

We didn't care for EoS. I'm sure we are the minority but, it was soooo crowded, they were not helpful to us when we asked questions and the food was just ok.

We love EoS! Everything we've gotten there has been excellent - I wish I could buy their rolls to take home!

It does get wicked crowded, and it can be hard to find a place to sit, though.

If I decide on WPE, which 1 do I need to go to as far as most value and best food Westside or Marketplace?

Mmmm they are both fantastic! I personally would say EoS, especially if you are looking to get dessert afterwards, but if you want something other than sandwiches, WPE has great pizzas and other dishes as well.

Having eaten great meals at both, we prefer Earl of a Sandwich to WPE and look forward to returning on our next trip!

It looks like I'm in the minority here, but I've always thought that sandwiches at EOS were on the small side. Definitely not large enough to share and really not big enough to be filling for one person, YMMV. Having said that I love EOS, just wish the sandwiches were bigger.

I agree. I love the sandwiches at EoS (add cranberries! mmmmm!), but I need a bag of chips and usually a bowl of soup to feel full. Still worth it, though. So delicious

We love WPE for the variety. Definitely go to the Marketpalce location, bigger menu, indoor seating. If you are really set on sandwiches, EOS may be better for you,and more economical if paying oop.

This is exactly how I felt. I could have written this post word for word. I wanted to like the food. The portions were big and the price was reasonable for Disney. But the sandwich was blah.

I will say that my favorite food in all the world is the sandwich. When people ask, "What's your favorite food?" And everyone always answers, "Steak or shrimp or pasta!" My stock answer is always, "A sandwich." I love them.

We had three adults in our party, and we all tried a different sandwich and not one of us liked any of them. My DD did not like her sandwich either. We actually threw them all away. I feel so weird about it, too, because almost everyone raves about EoS. What was wrong with us that we didn't like it? Are our tastes that different? Usually we agree with the majority. We must have some weird recessive gene that distorts our taste buds when it comes to sandwiches or something. Ack! It's driving me crazy that I don't agree. I seriously am wondering how this could be possible when everyone love EoS so.
