wow

Don't mind them. But, they are just expressing their opinions, and they have a right to that. Even if it does come out a little rude.

I've never seen any balcony/window/door decorations at the deluxe resorts, that doesn't mean you can't try

Have a Happy Birthday in Disney!

I understand where you are coming from. To me, it was uncalled for as well as being rude. Some people are just looking for negative things to say. :(.
Have a magical trip!( and rest of the day!) :thumbsup2

I understand it's there opinion and everyone has a right to that. But they don't have to call it ugly or ridiculous? :confused3

Thank you!:)

I don't mean to crash your party, but I noticed the rudeness of some of the so-called grown-ups on the other board. Try not to take it to heart. They must be very unsecure in their own social standing to make such comments. Happy Birthday!

By the way, I was at the Poly last month and there WERE decorations for a few birthdays that others could see and it was not a problem!

Probly...and Thank You!

Thanks for saying that and I'm sure other people do put up decos.

i was there and i was soooo annoyed with the adults!
why do they have to be that way?

dw us teen disers banded together :rotfl:

Yea I was thinking, did they not realize I'm only 14?
But even with that, I don't see why you would say that to your Dis friends?

:rotfl: true!

I we talked to a guy at the Yacht Club, not at the call center.

Yeah, they were definitely being rude.
Personally, I would not be offended if my neighbor's door or balcony door were deocrated for a birthday or some other kind of celebration. That would not ruin my trip.
If those other posters would have their trip ruined by their neighbor's door, that's really pathetic and they should probably go to some therapy to learn to not be such a control freak.

:lmao: well said and completly agreed with.

I think its weird how people think disney deluxe is like the classiest thing ever. I mean its nice, and I like staying at AKL, but what is a 5 star within the compounds of wdw is probably not a 5 star hotel in the grand market of hotels around the world. Its great and way more than I would expect for a theme park vacation but it is a theme park vacation.

Decorate your balcony. I'm not sure I would even *notice* if my neighbors decorated their door/balcony.

Now if this was a finer hotel/vacation, it might be inappropriate to tie balloons or something like that or stick stickers all over the doors and windows. But lets be honest, you're going to florida to ride rides and get your picture taken with Mickey. You're not going to Bali or Tuscany to drink expensive wine and eat expensive food made by the finest chefs in the world. Your room doesn't have a private beach front. In those situations, it may be inappropriate to decorate.

But this is a family theme park. You're fine.

ETA: they honestly probably did not realize you are fourteen. I know I didn't. I figured you were probably a teenager when I saw the thread but I couldn't begin to guess HOW old you were. The posters on that board are mostly adults, so when you showed up they probably assumed you were an adult too.

That's why I don't post on the DIS that often.
I don't see the big deal as long as it's not distracting or not allowed.
