I managed to walk 10 miles from 12pm till closing, with an hour eating (so no walking) and from 3:30pm-8pm I was standing still in the Whose's Line Taping... can't even begin to imagine how many miles I would have walked in a "normal" day at the parks. Yikes! Did I mention my feet are sore... :earseek:

Wow! I was thinking about getting one for our trip this week, but then I noticed that at our McDonalds they have a healthy adult happy meal (a big salad) and as the toy you get a "stepometer"
I might get one of those for lunch today.

Wow, that's great! Now I won't feel so guilty eating what I want the next time!! Seriouly, I've wanted to wear one at WDW just out of curiousity! Thanks for the post!

Yep, I just got one a few weeks ago and plan on taking it to WDW in 9 days!!!! On a "normal" day, I walk 2-4 miles at work. Can't wait to see what we do at WDW!!!!::yes::

WOW!!! DH got me a nice pedometer at Radio Shack for Mother's Day. I plan to us it on all my vacations from now on to see how many miles we do!

Mine was the free one from McDonald's included with the Adult Meal. It works great, very accurate.

Wow that is great. What a neat idea. I just may get one to see how much walking I do!
Thanks

When walking at Disney, you just don't fathom at how far you are walking in a day's time.

If you are there for a week and go to the parks, you can walk 50 miles plus easy.

I LOVE it!!! (crazy, I know) I eat anything I want, and never gain a pound, because the walking is my exercise. I eat sensibly through the year, and then WHAM, I eat whatever I want. I am never surprised to weigh the same, or maybe even a little less when I get back. Now, my poor feet need recooperating when I return, but nothing a little soaking won't cure.

I also tend to drink more water when I am at Disney - and I just don't like water all that much. I like the flavored water (but not "sugar water" as DH calls Kool-Aid). :hyper:

Oh my goodness. I knew it was alot of walking, but I never thought it was that much.

Sounds like I may need an extra DoleWhip to cool off.

I bought myself a pedometer for Mother's Day 2001 and wore it in December, 2001 for a four-day trip. We logged 41 miles total in four days time. Not bad for doing something you enjoy so much.:wave2:

Last August I wore a pedometer every day during our 6 day visit. We walked between 23,000 and 27,000 steps each day. This works out to about 10-13 miles per day, (60+ miles total!!!) We took afternoon breaks most days and I usually saved the spots for fireworks, so I was sitting more than my kids were. I don't think any of us gained any weight :)

I wear a pedometer too when in Disney and I logged a 10 mile day last year. Couldn't believe it, it sure didn't feel like I walked that far.

I wore my pedometer this past December. On an average Epcot day, I did seven miles for the day. That was a lot for me, but I was fine and dandy for a 50 year old female who is not particularly athletic.

How funny-I was putting on my pedometer from McDonald's I got with my lunch as I clicked on this post.

I wore mine in March and averaged about 10 miles each day. My DH knew it was a lot of walking so he didn't want to know how much until we got home.

WOW! That is a neat idea...I bet dh would like to try that and see how far we walk! :)

we bought a couple of them for $4.99 ea at walmart , and took them when we went in march. we averaged 10 miles a day. i wondered how i could eat so much in a day and loose weight! i guess the naxt time i fell i need to loose a couple of lbs. i'll plan another trip. i think i'll run upstairs and weigh myself.
