WOW! We REALLY got our luggage tags

We are going on a 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruise on 9/17. We disembark on 9/24, and then we're going to WDW/POP for one night and coming home Sunday.

I just picked up our documents for the WDW/POP trip from AAA today. We had the holographic luggage tags, but we do NOT have the yellow ME tags. I called our agent who said she believed that we would get the yellow ME tags upon check-in. I guess this makes sense, because we need to use the DCL tags for the flight from Columbus to Orlando so that the DCL staff could ID our luggage and get them to the Port. The agent said they probably didn't send them so that we would not attach them and then get our luggage sent to POP instead of the ship. That'd be bad!

We DID get a paper voucher that signifies that if we were using ME, the yellow tags would come 21 days before departure.

All that being said,

1) Does this make sense to everyone (not sending the ME tags so that we don't put them on before the flight and then accidently get them sent to the hotel)?

2) Do you think I WILL get the tags at the hotel when we check-in?

3) Would we NEED the yellow tags since we are just using the shuttle from the hotel back to the airport?

If you book a Magic Your Way Package plan you will receive an Official Walt Disney Travel Company luggage tag (one per person) with your documents that you receive after paying your package in full.

The Magical Express tags are yellow - almost glow in the dark paper like material and you should receive 2 per person on your reservation (for 2 checked bags per person).

Does anyone know if you book through a TA do you still get tags? We used DU and I am not sure if I should even get my hopes up for these. :confused3

YEP! I booked through DU and mine arrived a couple days ago! :banana:They are the holographic luggage tags. We're not doing Magical Express either.

Im confused, whats the difference between the two luggage tags and the 2 per person MEtags... My husband and I are going and we are checking in three bags and have two carry ons... and we're using ME... I'm confused will we or will we not have enough tags for our three bags?

Thanx!

Wow 18 luggage tags. I am soooo envious. I do wish that WDW would let you request more.

Disney was stingy with the luggage tags here. We got ours, but the didn't send any for DS because he's 2. I called to ask if I could PURCHASE another, but they said I couldn't. I will give him mine of course, but I thought that was kind of crappy CS. I mean how much did the luggage tag cost? I even offered to pay for it.

I was also told that he can't send his bags through ME because he is Mickey's Guest, and doesn't count. :confused3

That is disappointing :( My son is 2, too, so I guess we'll have the same issue.

I'll give him mine, but I agree, they really should send one for EVERYONE. 2 is old enough to feel left out!

I know I thought it was pretty sad I mean what does that tag cost disney 10 cents? Now we will have to bring his bags on the shuttle too. Maybe I should call again, and see what a different CM says.

Hi!

I have three people in my family and we'll be staying at a villa for 8 days and seven nights. I was told I'd have the ME tags 21 days before hand (we're leaving on 9/28) and that we were each only getting ONE! How do I get more? I can't have only one bag for a week!!!!!!!

I just got the ME tags today, we leave in 17 days. Since we booked the MYW package thru Southwest, do you think we won't get the cool luggage tags? :guilty: It's getting kinda late................

I'm kind of glooie now, I was hopeing to get at least 3 ME tags because I'm checking in three bags... now what do I do? Can you make one? I mean, does this mean I have to go to the luggage claim anyways and pick up my extra bag that I didn't get to check in? Please Help! Might not be able to go if I can't bring my third check in bag! AHH what am I to do? :rotfl:

Thanx

We are leaving on Sunday, so they got here right on time.

We are 3: dh, dd (2) and I, and we got 3 of the holographic luggage tags and also 3 yellow ME tags. I see other 2 year olds didn´t get either, so maybe we were just lucky, or our terrific TA, Leigh, from Small World Vacations, did it, which I think is a possibility since the address that appears as sender in the envelopes was hers in both cases.

Julie

Forgot to add that we got a coupon for the free lanyard and pin with the ME tags.

I read on the Transportation board that people booked for Magical Express were getting one coupon for a pin and lanyard in their packets. So each family on ME should get the coupon, but there won't be a coupon for each person in your party.

The ME packet should include 2 yellow tags for each person in your party, because most airlines only allow 2 checked bags per person. I suppose if you need more tags you could call and tell them your packet never arrived so they would send more.

Im really missing something here... what is the holographic luggage tags for and the yellow tags for... what I mean is why are they sending two different kinds of tags?? is it the holographic for your carry on luggage and the yellow ones for your check in?

Jaime

Ps do you think it just awful of me if I were to call and say "i only got ONE tag what am I going to do?!??!?!?" i might feel real guilty. :rolleyes1

What did the package that your tags came in look like? We're going in October and I want to keep an eye out for it so the kids don't accidentally see it since this is a surprise trip.

I would love one of the holographic tags if anyone has extras (though it sounds like you want to keep them all, I don't blame you!) I live in the area so I'll never do a MYW package, and they are hard to get if you don't!! :earboy2:

The holographic LUGGAGE tags are just that-LUGGAGE tags-You write your name and address and phone number on them.

The yellow tags are for if you are using Magical Express-where Disney picks you up and takes you to the airport.

And instead of saying you only got one tag maybe ( if you can be slightly deceiving) say you didn't get any package at all. :goodvibes
