It was just announced that a 4.2 earthquake hit the "Low Country"(Charleston area) of S.C.
I never felt a thing!!!

In Southern California we know all about earthquakes. :) It has to be at least a 5.0 here for anyone to blink, it seems. How much you feel it depends a great deal on how close you are to the epicenter.

Glad you're okay! :)

we did have a tornado come trough here yesterday morning. We are about 180 miles from Relling Twin ( Hey Mary). I have not heard a thing about the earthquake. Where was it centered?

Wow Mary! Bet that shook things up for you'all!
We had a tornado about an hour from here yesterday (F-1). Seems like our weather is getting stranger all the time.
Hope you and yours are well -

Rae

From what I read in the paper this morning it was the second earthquake in a week.

Mary....we felt it here.

We were sitting at the kitchen table doing HOMEWORK...and the whole house started shaking!!! I didn't know what it was, as we are sometimes in the flight path...sometimes the US Air pilots and private pilots swing out over the ocean and turn over our way to land....but later found it was an earthquake!!! How weird. It only lasted about 30 seconds or so and didn't want to say anything to scare Natalie...so I just told myself it was a low flying plane or maybe Lifestar landing at the airport. Lifestar flys up the coast and cuts across our area to the airport.

So, a real earthquake.....I hope those and the tornadoes are over for now..

Hi! Hope you guys weren't shaken too badly. I see you have signed up for the next cruisetoberfest....sure wish I could go again in the fall. I think cuisetoberfest 1 was so much fun. Everyone with their little flags waving as we sailed from port. I actually saw buckeye candy for sale recently and it reminded me of that cruise. I am going to give it some serious thought. Would love to know how many from original cruise are signing up for this one.

We're in Charleston too. DH said the bed and TV shook in the downstairs bedroom but I was upstairs and didnt feel a thing. We live just off the Ashley River and the airplanes follow the river to the airport, so we are used to low flying planes. DH thought it was a plane flying over until we saw the news! Yikes!

Glad all is safe. Between the storms and earthquake I am tired of this strange weather! We are used to hurricanes - not all this stuff!

The last one we had here, Southern IL, I thought my washer was out of balance again!!!
