According to a pop up on Disney.com WDW will have abrevated hours on Friday and plans on being closed on Saturday due to the Hurricane. WDW never closes, I think its closed only a handful of times since it opened.

I hope that everyone is safe and that she still turns away a bit to lessen the blow.

Bless everyone,
Aimee

I dont blame them one bit for closing! I think that they are doing a great job dealing with all this.

Side note: I worked for a major airline vacation company several years ago. I was on a hurricane team that had to handle Andrew , and several others that I cant remember the names of. I dreaded each hurricane, not only for the volume of work but for the fear of the people and property in its path. However the worst aspect of it was the fact that I would get screamed at by people whos vacation plans had to be cancelled or replanned, you would be amazed at how horrible some people where to me no matter what we offered to them to try and salvage a vacation.

I really pray that this horrible huricane changes paths here and this is all for nothing.
Again please be safe everyone. My prayers are with you.

It wouldnt be so bad if the company you work for gave a poop that yourvacation you saved up for for 2 years just got flushed and you had to reschedule...... but usually they dont.

Not taking up for insensitivity (sp?) but less stress the better.

Let us not forget that first of all weather is NOT a controllable thing. Second, the cruise line is ALSO depending upon the revenue produced by cruise line passengers and would not cancel any revenue event clearer heads prevail and realize that DCL (or ANY cruise line) would not want to deal with this situation had they a choice. Courtesy and kindness should be shown by each and EVERY passenger inconvenienced - remember - the cruise line didn't bring upon a hurricane/port closing etc. The motto here ought to be - 'be kind to a cast member" - NOT becoming belligerent and obnoxious and demanding. This is a consequence of Mother Nature folks, not intended to ruin anyones vacation! Of course, safety is #1 - and should be! Not missed flights/cancelled cruises etc. Personally, I have NO patience whatsoever for rude demanding people, who couldn't be satisfied WHATEVER the cruise line offered. For heavens sake, please treat these CM's like YOU would want to be treated!

Very well said. I know that every person that I have come into contact with in the last few days at stores I was extra nice. I am sure that they have been yelled at more then once for being out of batteries, wood, water etc.
