I just got off the phone with AAA. I tried to book the CR , WL , GF all with no luck! We are not talking free dining or special offers either. I tried to get a regular room with the AAA rate for the first week in December.

They had a few beach club , BW , and AK. I dont want any of those though.

My question is it really going to be that much busier this time of year or does AAA only have certain rooms they can even book? Like as in a limited number? I am getting nervous now!

Just for the heck of it I checked to see if I could book a room on-line for the week of 12/5-12/12. No problems for CR, WL or GF.

It looks like AAA may be out of rooms for those spots but Disney still has some open.

AAA always just gets a certain number of rooms at any hotel. I've done non-Disney hotel reservations before where I could get an internet rate or a rack rate but not an AAA rate.

Thanks guys! I am on it... Uggg stress . Wish me luck

Grrr this is not my day. Been on the phone all day reserving this and that. But still no luck with Disney. ( We are doing part of our trip offsite)

I called and there are no rooms left for WL under the discounted room only rate. No CR rooms that are tower rooms with any view ( I would take any) , only club level ( which I cant do because of a nut allergy and people bring that stuff around the hall) . Cant stay at the Poly because we cant really use their resturants ( peanut sauces are to much risk 4 us) , and I totally forgot to check the GF! Guess I will try that next...

As of now I have the same WL room I would have had for 150 but I am paying almost 300... :< That stinks!

I might as well go to BLt for 400 or even just try offsite which I dont want .

I couldn't agree more with PAcpl.

The Beach Club, Boardwalk and Animal Kingdom are spectacular resorts with many special amenities that can not be found at a Value Resort.

We've stayed at each one of these resorts and fell in love with The Beach Club so much that we wound up purchasing a DVC there.

Treat yourself and your family and give them a try...You'll find it hard to stay elsewhere afterwards.

You can still get a AAA discount for the rooms through Disney Reservations. Just say that you have a AAA card, we have done that before. But I don't think you can use any Disney discounts then though.

Thanks for the tip. I wasn't aware of that before. I'll ask next time I'm booking a room.

That's the exact discount my family and I got at the Contemporary for our Atrium Club - Bay Lake View for this December, which is going to be 10% off.

AAA only has limited availability. Isn't Disney's discounts for that time better than AAA discount though?

Thanks everyone.

Pacpl and Scott- I am sure you are right. I guess I just get my mind set on a certain place so I am disapointed. If those places were part of one of the many deals I wouldnt be so disapointed. But to miss a deal and the rooms I wanted just stinks. I will look up some info on them later though and put some thought into it. Thanks for the info.

Topmonkey- I am checking out the site now. I see a possible code but I cant figure out if it will work for us yet so I guess I will email them and see. Thanks!

disneyChristian and CR resortfan- Thats something that would help. But so far I cant even find what I need even without any discounts. If I do though that will help take off the edge a bit.

avahoneybee- Yes but the room only discount is only offered for WL and AK and WL is gone leaving AK and I didnt really want that one at Christmas time
. The free dining is on days 5 or more and I only need 3 as I am going offsite after.

Which leaves me this... Can any of the free dining codes be used in the first week of December on only a 3 night stay? I would still need a 10 day ticket though. It looked like you had to be 5 nights or more. ( And ifthey dont let me but a park ticket that is for 10 days with a 3 night stay it wouldnt work anyway)

We booked our AAA res in April. We got a family suite at ASMu. That's what we wanted. We don't need a fancy resort but we DO need the extra beds. There are 5 of us (Me, DH, DD17, D17 and DS6). I used to work in the hotel biz and I know that we only allowed a certain number of AAA rooms, a certain number of Military discount rooms, Business discount rooms, etc. The rest we had to sell at rack rate or higher!

My understanding from other threads is that five days was used as an example only, and that it is a 3-night minimum.

BCV. is one of my favorites at Christmas. walking distance to Epcot and the amazing chocolate display. I had my pin autographed by chief Stephani who builds the carousel. :goodvibes

The week of Dec.7-12,The Pop Warner SuperBowl, and The National Cheer/Dance Competition will be at WDW.:scared:

That is completely understandable. We are considering pushing our February trip back to May because half of our week is wait listed and we want to stay at BLT.

As far as the other resorts:

The Animal Kingdom is great and there is nothing like laying in bed and seeing a giraffe walk by your room. Its absolutely amazing, and something I never thought I would see. But it is off the beaten path so if you are used to being so close to the parks you may be slightly disappointed.

The Boardwalk so far is our favorite resort (not that we have many to compare). It is in walking distance to Epcot and DHS if you're a trooper. The Friendship's constantly run so getting to Epcot is never a problem. It is a 24 minute ride from Epcot to DHS on a Friendship if you decide to park hop. And there is great entertainment on the Boardwalk with the jugglers and mimes. Not to mention JellyRolls :cool1:

The Beach Club we will be staying at when we go in October. We haven't stayed there but we have visited Beaches and Cream when we were staying at BWV. The sandy bottom pool looked like it would be a blast and of course B&C is great.

Anyway, whatever you do settle with im sure you will have a blast. Remember booking the trip is the hardest part (for me anyway). It's all fun after that when you get to plan your trip and live out the magic! Good luck with whatever you decide on.
