DS went back to school today. This is the first time he's been on a school bus. Wow! Have I been missing out! :) His school in FL didn't have buses, and we arrived here too late in the school year last year to take advantage of the bus. I see a few good things happening because of this...

1) He will be on time for school! :teeth: Last year I had a few days too many of not getting my act together. My fault, not his.

2) I will not have to do that drive twice a day. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc They will drop him off at a local day care center. Unfortunately, his school does not have an after care program. However, the center is right near home! :)

3) It will be even better to take advantage of this when there's snow on the ground! Woooooooo hoooooooo!! :Pinkbounc

4) When I find a job <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/17/17_1_10.gif' alt='Prayer' border=0></a> I'll be able to start at 8:00 if it's possible. :Pinkbounc I've been avoiding jobs starting then because drop off time at his school is 7:45 a.m. There's no way to be sitting at a desk at 8:00. Now there is! Yipeeeee! :Pinkbounc

So this morning one of the pups and I walked him to the bus stop and waited with him. Who will make a guess at how long it will be before he tells me that I don't have to go with him and he can do it himself? He's 11 years old and in 6th grade.

very cool for you. DD starts kindergarten in 2 weeks & the bus picks her up right out front of our house.

Hey Sandy!

I know the bus is a boon for you but can't help thinking about the scene in 16 Candles about the bus LOL! I give Richard a week tops to say he can handle it himself. He's 11 now which makes you thoroughly uncool. No self respecting 11 year old would be caught dead with his mom at the bus stop! But it's so hard to let go isn't it? DSis enrolled her 5 yr old in Kindergarten this week and she's the one who cried. He's all excited!

On the upside, with more flexibility in your schedule you should be able to find a job a bit quicker. Good luck!

P.S.
Got your Busch tickets in hand

kimwim...Great they pick up your DD at the house. I would hope they do with the little ones. :)

Tammy...LOLOLOL!  :rotfl: You cracked me up! I haven't seen that movie...yet. I guess I'll have to rent and watch it while Richard is at school. Uncool? I'm "officially" uncool now?

This morning there was a 3rd grade girl and her grandma at the stop also. The grandma waved to her little one, and she waved back. DS didn't even look out the window! LOL! This afternoon I heard the bus brakes. Went to the window to make sure he was actually on the bus! :earseek: Yup...I think it was him any way. :) He was sitting with his back up against the window and his arms crossed behind his head. Ha! Legs up across the seat. I think he's going to like this although his reaction up to now was that he didn't want to take the bus. And this morning I reminded him that it was just a half day today. Wanted to see if he wanted to come home early. I was surprised to hear him say he WANTED to go to the day care center!! :earseek: :Pinkbounc Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!! I guess he really does like it there. I hope his first day went well. Can't wait to find out. Of course, I'll have to ask him a zillion questions since he won't volunteer any information.

Glad your nephew is headed to kindergarten! Give your sister a pat on the back for that...as hard as it is for her. He really does need the social interaction with other kids if nothing else. <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_3_1v.gif' alt='Teacher' border=0></a>

Tickets! Oh, GREAT! Thank you!!! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_1_101.gif' alt='' border=0></a>
