Wow! OKW books up fast for Marathon!

Today, one day after I first could book, there is not a studio at OKW for the night of January 9th, the night of the 5 K. I did get a 2 bedroom for the stay I wanted, 8-13, so that's done, and wait listed for that 1 night for DSis. It's not a big thing, but I was very surprised!! I am glad I gave up on BLT (wait list, it was not a reservation) and booked OKW when I could!

Just saw that! Glad I booked okw yesterday when my 7 month window opened (wens and thur). I was hoping for BWV or BCV but those weren't available. I walked Friday onward (staying over the following week too!) at a BLT standard studio at 11 months. Wasn't sure at the time if walking was necessary but I am glad I did. It should be a busy weekend.

Yeah, I'm registered for the Princess half in February, and from what I hear, most everything is booked up already then, too. I'm not holding out too much hope for a change at the 7 month mark.

I was online yesterday at 8am and was able to grab a 1 bedroom OKW for Jan 8 - 12. Whew!

I guess we were lucky. Last week my daughter told me she wanted to do the marathon this year after doing the half last year. I was able to book a studio at OKW for us. See you there!

This is funny....I just got an e-mail that DSis's one night did come through, so they are set. They are in OKW for registration night and then the night of the 5K.

Interesting. DH and I will be at SSR over marathon weekend. We have a studio. Why did OKW fill? Is is a smaller resort or is there something that links it to the marathon?

Well, OKW is smaller. Some people mention that even though you are not supposed to walk to the start of the marathon, they do since it is possible from OKW.

We wanted OKW specifically because it was fewer points than other places and that it also had 2 queens in the second bedroom of the 2 bedroom that we have. I wanted my DSis to be in the same resort. She and her honey are only staying 2 nights, the rest of us are staying 5 nights, so I also didn't want them to have to move after 1 night. I have a March UY, so am borrowing heavily from 2014's points, I just wanted something and to be done with all booking into 2013 UY.
