I frequently pull up youtubes of people's cruise vids to watch (especially as our dates get close.) it gets the family excited. So I've watched a lot of them - even made a couple myself. Some are are really well-made and quite enjoyable. A few are even impressive.

But this morning I saw the one that knocked me out. It set the bar to a whole other level. It's simply amazing.

Congrats to the superdad who pulled it off. Wow!

Watch it all.

Nice video. The difference between this one and many others is that he is using a good DSLR or high end camcorder. Most other videos are taken with cellphones, GoPro/equivalent, or P&S cameras. The video quality between a good DSLR/Camcorder vs the others is a night and day difference.

His cutting is impressive. I'm a former television producer and his choices and skills are what I would expect from my editors. I'm assuming he has some professional experience. If not, he is one serious hobbyist. It's truly delightful.

That was my thought, too. It looked professional. Very nice find, OP

I can't even imagine the amount of footage the gent took to get that video. He must have been filming almost nonstop. It was great and yes good quality, so perhaps in the industry. Very nice and what a nice family.

The most amazing aspect of the video is the empty pool chairs.

Lol

It's funny, but we are west coast cruisers as well and our experience has been a lot like that. We have rarely had a hard time getting pool chairs. Occasionally, mid-afternoon, sea day, family pool it will be tough, but usually no problem.
Probably should have kept that to myself ;)

^Don't be. Some of those shots look like they were taken with a Glidecam. Some of those lenses had to be f2.8 or wider. Unless you already have thousands invested, use what you got and frame every shot with interest.

PS: I have thousands invested in video gear :)

Any suggestions for editing, when your only devices are mobile (cell phone, tablet, etc)?
