wow! No one flies American anymore!......... Except for me!

Wow... I certainly hope that's not true... I'd be out of a job!

Hi,

Why do you say that?

Our small airport has two airlines, AA and NW.

Our options are limited.

herc.

...is either flying Jetblue or Southwest. Personally,I like American
Airlines. The staff has always been very nice and flights have always been on time!

I have nothing against American Airlines, or most major carriers (except Delta.....ugh.....I won't even get into my issues with them), it's just that JetBlue and Southwest are generally the cheapest available flights for me. Not to mention that JetBlue (in addition to their cheaper fares) has free TV! As their ads say, it beats staring at a tray table! :)

And Southwest is the ONLY carrier to offer non-stop flights to Orlando out of Buffalo. That is a MAJOR plus for me.

That's why I generally choose one of those two. When the major airlines can offer a fare that is as low or lower than JetBlue, or non-stop flights that are as inexpensive as Southwest, I'll give them a shot. It really isn't anything personal! :)

Price is my issue, too. My Orlando flights used to be pretty evenly distributed between American, United, and ATA. But now American and United are never even in the ballpark for the days/times that I want. I never fly first class, and no one serves meals anymore, so there's no compelling reason for me to fly anyone but ATA.

I love AA and used to fly them exclusively, but then
-they stopped direct flights from Hartford
-the are more expensive than some others that have direct flights.

When not traveling to Orlando, AA is my preferred airline.

I just picked American for the first time for our first trip. It was even cheaper that Southwest!! I also like getting the miles. That way we can have the excuse to go to Disneylands 50th next year.

I stopped looking into American Airlines all together when I was quoted a price through CheapTickets of, get this...$4825.00!! ...for 2 adults and 2 children!! Yup!.. that's $1206.00 per person..I even printed it out in all my disbelief, to put it in my 'are they completely NUTS?' file!!!!..just had to show that one to DH!!

Makes us totally happy with the $220.00 pp we've been seeing with Song and JetBlue!! :D

We'll be flying AA to MCO in June- it was the best deal for a non-stop flight. We used them on our last trip to MCO also.

I think the "Flights" on this board are a little skewed. Delta, SW and I think JetBlue have much a bigger presence in Orlando than AA. However, AA has a huge Miami presence so...

However, any airline has it's fans and detractors. One poster said they like AA and have issues with Delta. With me it is the exact opposite. I won't ever post my AA issues since they are older and not relevant, but.... if I have a choice my dollars go elsewhere.

After looking at all carrriers for weeks, we finally got a 191. rt fare from Denver to MCO on American thru Orbitz. Fare on American's website was 396. We change planes in St Louis, but the fare was so much cheaper than the non stops.

I am still finding standard prices to Florida from $200 - $250 on American for non-holiday travel out of Boston, Manchester or Providence. I expect the market will go lower while Jet Blue (in boston)tries to establish itself and grab customers from the other airlines. After that good old US economics wil prevail and I am sure all the airlines will gouge us all at very similar prices. It is disappointing that American seems to have cut back on its flights and choices of times.

I find AA prices to be higher. I always use Delta.

I have no paricular loyalty to any one airline and I find that the price for any airline's tickets depends on WHERE and WHEN you fly. Then you need to factor in any "special" rates that may be available when the airlines try to gain customers from other airlines by dropping their regular fares.
