Wow! My Guide Just Called!

What is a guide and do I have one? Obviously since 1997 we've never received a call from one, so I don't think we even have one?!?!?!:confused3

The salesperson that handled your transaction when you purchased DVC. We had Raphael ???? and we used to get a Christmas card from him up until a while back. Maybe after 5 years you drop off the list.

I have to say though... we looked in 1995 and didn't buy until 1998. He did call maybe once a year then, but never ever even pushed slightly for us to buy. "Just keeping in touch".
 
We received a call from our guide Jonathon on our first use trip is past Sept. He called us at OKW and gave us a big Welcome home and wished us a good cruise which were were leaving the next day for. I was totally impressed by his call. I'm wondering if he will call us again in June when we arrive at HHI.

Our guide has called us on every trip since we purchased DVC. Usually we aren't in the room when she calls, but she leaves a message.
 

Our guide calls most trips. I used to be a little upset because he'd call, saying "I see you and Fredrick are at the BCV....", even when I was solo. Ironically, he hardly ever calls when DH is actually with me! Now that I see what a rare occassion it is for a guide to call, rather than being at all upset about his not knowing who exactly is/is not there, I'm now very pleased that Glen Wilson (our guide) calls.
 
Our guide called during our first trip in 2002, but we haven't heard from her since. It is a nice touch when they call, but we don't care because we're always having to much fun!
 
Add me to those people who have never heard from their guide after signing the agreement to purchase. You would think that all guides would follow the same policy, but I guess not.
 
We're actually on our fourth guide! The first two left the company, and the third reassignment was (IMHO) shifty. We asked to be reassigned prior to adding on because I did not want my commission to go to somebody that I felt was being dishonest. She was really nice and helpful when we added on - we were really close to the date when AKV opened the general reservation window and she helped expedite our paperwork so that we could get the reservation last July. :thumbsup2

But this is the first guide that's called us to make sure we had a good trip and were happy with the resort. :lovestruc It was a very nice touch. I hope she sticks with the company!
