Wow! More discounted rooms available....

I was happily surprised today when I called MS. I had originally booked a 2-bedroom at the VWL with the cash discount for June 9th and 10th due to no availability at BWV for those dates. My family and I decided over the weekend to switch to OKW. So, I called today to change the ressie, and decided to ask for BWV to see if anything opened up for those dates....and it had!!! So, now we can stay at the BWV for the entire trip (June 3rd-11th)!! They must open up rooms they don't book for the cash discount the closer it gets to the date! Whatever the reason....we are so excited!

Now we are just keeping our fingers crossed that they might possibly link the ressie's when we get there (is this too much to ask? probably! ) We have preferred views for our cash ressie's and a boardwalk view for our points ressie. So...we will see....

How great, I'm glad it worked out! I had a very similar thing happen. We were booking 11 nights on cash and 3 nights on points since my husband's company is going to reimburse us for the cash part since he will be at a meeting. The first time I called only 4 nights were available on cash. Then I called every few days and slowly got each additional night at the discount. They definitely release more cash discount rooms periodically. Sounds like a great trip to the Boardwalk!

You give an excellent example of why things are always opening up! When you consolidated at one resort, you opened up rooms at another. Loads of us are doing this all the time which means that just because you don't get exactly what you want every time the first time, with a little patience and persistence you eventually wind up where you want to be when you want to be there. Glad you got what you wanted and I'm sure they'll link your reservations.

Yes...what this has made me realize is that you should always keep calling and trying to book what you want! Hopefully someone waiting for a 2-bedroom at the VWL got a room due to my switch!!

Exactly!! Every time I call Member Services, I wonder (hope) that someone has changed their mind or gotten something they like better and have released the nights I want. I've gotten so used to the process that I don't even book nights in an alternate resort....I just leave holes in my reservation that I then try to fill later.
